Marauder | 06 Jan 2009 5:30 p.m. PST |
In 15mm I'd definately buy them |
Covert Walrus | 06 Jan 2009 5:34 p.m. PST |
Yeah, that would be nice; Germy's 6mm infantry throygh Brigade are similar enough for that scale I think :) But where do you find the vehicles in those scales? |
cloudcaptain | 06 Jan 2009 6:23 p.m. PST |
Yeah
15mm versions would be a wise financial move sez I. |
Cacique Caribe | 06 Jan 2009 6:27 p.m. PST |

I'd order $100 USD worth of them in a heart beat! Those are the 15mm scifi troops I want for WWWII! I'd also get them if they were 10mm for Heavy Gear troopers in turtleshell armor! |

CATenWolde | 06 Jan 2009 10:52 p.m. PST |
At least a platoon, probably a full company. |
nvdoyle | 06 Jan 2009 11:57 p.m. PST |
Yep. I've got some of the 28s, and they're superb. I'd love to see them (and the vehicles and robots!) it 15mm – especially the Kolony line. |
damosan | 07 Jan 2009 3:46 a.m. PST |
I have a platoon of their 28mm stuff and love 'em. If they did 15s it may push me into dumping all my 28s and starting over. |
dwartist | 07 Jan 2009 5:56 a.m. PST |
I'd sooner they concentrated on creating more 28mm
|
Sloppypainter | 07 Jan 2009 6:09 a.m. PST |
If they were out in 15mm
I'd also dump my 28's and go for it big time in 15mm. If the quality was the same as the 28's
I'd field a company no doubt about it. |
Ron W DuBray | 07 Jan 2009 7:00 a.m. PST |
"I'd sooner they concentrated on creating more 28mm" I agree because I have 1000s of 28mm minis painted and whole worlds of terrain to fill my table. |
McBane | 07 Jan 2009 7:22 a.m. PST |
I concure, they would rock in 15mm also
.28s look good, 15 would just rock :-) *as I slowly get sucked into 15mm* |
Dropship Horizon | 07 Jan 2009 10:07 a.m. PST |
2 companies worth of minis if they lived up to the 28mm's. I have written to Pig iron a couple of times suggesting 15mm and the response has not been in favour. Times change though and maybe this thread may spark some interest for expanding their market into 15s. Regardless, 2009 will be a great year for new 15mm Sci Fi miniatures! Cheers Mark |

"Times change though and maybe this thread may spark some interest for expanding their market into 15s." That was exactly my intent. Sometimes voicing our interest in things helps steer future projects with some manufacturers. Fingers crossed. CC |
Cacique Caribe | 07 Jan 2009 1:16 p.m. PST |
I does seem like more and more of us are getting into 15mm. CC |
commanderroj | 07 Jan 2009 1:24 p.m. PST |
I have the other troops from the Pig iron line and am very pleased with tem in 28mm, but i wouldnt be buying much more just because i find i dont need to field too many 28mm. I like their very hard sci-fi look, but i wouldnt get the Kolony troops as i just dont like the look personally, although clearly they are well executed minis. i would buy the rest in 15mm though, definitely. |
dwartist | 07 Jan 2009 4:36 p.m. PST |
can't see it happening – the folks at Pig Iron work very hard to maintain and increase the 28mm and, incidentally, their excellent customer service standards; I think Simon has a few ideas he'd like to see manifested in 28mm minis and vehicles before considering another scale. |
Cacique Caribe | 07 Jan 2009 8:54 p.m. PST |
dwartist, I sent Simon a PM asking if he was interested in posting his thoughts here. Let's see what happens. CC |
Cacique Caribe | 08 Jan 2009 11:35 a.m. PST |
"I have written to Pig iron a couple of times suggesting 15mm and the response has not been in favour." Mark, how recent was that? CC |
dwartist | 08 Jan 2009 1:16 p.m. PST |
One things for sure, CC, you will get a response! Incidentally I do think PI would work in 15mm. |
Bigfootevan | 08 Jan 2009 5:06 p.m. PST |
YES!!!!!! Or in plastic for 28's =) |
Dropship Horizon | 09 Jan 2009 3:48 a.m. PST |
"Mark, how recent was that?" Admittedly a while ago. I think NOW is the right time to lay it back on thetable for them with the vast increase in AFV's and suport weapons available from GZG, new manufacturers such as Combat Wombat entering the fray in a very determined way, E-Traveller/Striker iniarures available in mainstream, and 'glossy' rules such as Future War Commander which encourage 15mm gamers to think about Sci Fi tabletop battles in terms greater than a platoon and couple of tanks. Cheers Mark |
PIG IRON WORK | 09 Jan 2009 6:11 a.m. PST |
Hi there all, Sorry for being a bit quiet on this hot topic – been busy getting things back in order after the xmas rush. Not good news on the 15mm topic – cant see it happening as we want to concentrate on 28mm and get some new models out as soon as we can. Also, from a creative point of view replicating everything in 15mm would be so dull – we like to keep doing new stuff as our attention span is so small. Thanks for all the interest though. Si |

"cant see it happening as we want to concentrate on 28mm and get some new models out as soon as we can." Told ya! :) |

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but seeing as it's kind of reached a natural end with the official response I'll just jump in and say that we (GZG) will have lots more new stuff coming out very shortly in 15mm, including some items that the good folks here have been keenly waiting for
. ;-) Jon (GZG) |

AWESOME news, Jon!!! Can't wait to see some previews of your new ranges. CC |

I'm totally happy with Pig Iron concentrating on their 28mm lines. The more new designs they put out the better! :-) |
Cyclops | 10 Jan 2009 2:31 a.m. PST |
I understand Pig Iron's decision but I have to say that one of my major frustrations over the past few years is the inability to get figures and vehicles in various scales (apart from historical, obviously). I like 28mm for skirmish up to about platoon level, 15mm for company and 6mm for my 'one stand = a platoon' games. Try getting the same vehicle in those three scales. I think the manufacturer who does it first could make a killing. |

Would Pig Iron be willing to contemplate 'licensing' the range to someone who *would* be interested in doing 15mm versions? Just a thought. -Will |
Dropship Horizon | 18 Jan 2009 9:42 a.m. PST |
"Just a thought. -Will" And not a bad one either. Mark |

Yea, it is a great Idea
. I have written at least twice a year about the idea
Ok not so much last year, but I have asked. As I thought their vehicle alone would be great in 15mm
. But the figs would be great too
. Some day they will see the light
.. |
Cacique Caribe | 03 Feb 2009 2:00 p.m. PST |
"Some day they will see the light . . . " Hope so, while there's still time. Right now, I think these are the closest thing out there to meet, what I think are, their main characteristics: link CC |
Cacique Caribe | 09 Feb 2009 7:57 p.m. PST |
But that's just me . . . What would make a 15mm range of Pig-Iron-like infantry unique, among everything else already in production out there? Is it their helmets? Their gear? Their weaponry? Their poses? CC |
Cacique Caribe | 13 Feb 2009 9:49 a.m. PST |
I'm told that Mike's KSK Assault Team 12-figure pack contains six poses! link Placing order right NOW. As soon as I get them painted I'll post pics. Thanks. CC |
commanderroj | 14 Feb 2009 3:26 p.m. PST |
I like the Pig Iron regular troops, not the Kolony type. Why? Difficult to say. i will be converting mine to full helmets rather than the half type. i guess they are probably some of the most advanced looking troops available, and this is sci-fi. By comparison, I have a number of Copplestone neo-Soviets which i like (obviously, i bought them)but then i look at them and think, apart from the guns, there isnt that much specifically sci-fi about them-so i may convert heads with more pig iron stuff (like the tank drivers) and some back packs from somewhere
|
CMikeHardy | 14 Feb 2009 5:24 p.m. PST |
Personally, I'd rather see Pig Iron Powered Armor more than 15mm Pig Iron Troops. Cheers! |
