Hi guys, well the first Ilkley Lads game of 09 is set to go – The Battle of the River; set in the Holy Land 1130ish. I've posted the very simple briefing, deployment map and some shots of the table and figures all set to go on my blog. It's quite a biggy – well over 500 infantry and over 300 cavalry, mostly Perry's, but with a few Gripping Beast and Musketeer Minis. We'll be using Ager Sanguinis as published in MW. olicanalad.blogspot.com James |

Great looking pictures I love the Arab buildings and the tutorial is very handy. Two stubby thumbs up! |

Those paint jobs look great. I'm so far from 800 minis it's ridiculous. |

Thanks for your kind words, on the "I want to play" comment, the Ilkley Lads will be a bit short handed at Shefield Triples in April – if you want to volunteer to play for one or both days (we'll field the show punter questions etc.) I'm more than willing to include you. The game is fundamentally a demo not a participation game so you will be expected to have read the rules and play for the day; the game will be played in sessions leaving you with plenty of shopping time. Each game will take one day – re-set for Sunday regardless of the result at the end of Saturday's play. A result in four hours playing time is usual. If you are younger than 16 you must be accompanied at ALL times by a responsible adult – we are NOT a baby sitting service (we've been caught out by this before and will not suffer it again – adult goes – kid goes!). Leave your email on my blog, as soon as I pick it up (usually within the day)- I'll contact you and delete your post (/ email) from my blog. (Or you can email me via Yahoo Groups – Piquet, Shattered Lances, Ancmed, Old School Wargames, Miniature Army Campaigns, War Galley – search for olicanalads). olicanalad.blogspot.com James Roach |
