Hi all,

I've been browsing all the most renowned terrain/scenery international makers' websites in search for a classical Greek/Hellenistic/Roman temple model suitable for 15mm wargaming, but I've been unable to find any such piece. At most, a few (very few) houses and a couple of fortification sets. But no temples (I'm referring to entirely functional, non-ruined temples).

Does anyone know where could I find such a piece of scenery? Or maybe someone willing to produce it?

Thanks!

As strange as it may sound, try the pet shops and look in the aquarium section. I have a number of friends who have found wonderful temples in the local "Pet Smart" chain.

JR Miniatures has a temple both in ruin and non-ruined. I have both and use them for many a game.

I found an awesome Parthenon model on ebay. It was on Greek ebay. A plastic model of the Parthenon, originally made as a cheap tourist souvenir complete with a viewing hole to see slides of Greek antiquities.

Not a Temple, but Steve Barber has some really nice 15mm Roman buildings. If you haven'tseen them, check'em out

Have a look at the seller 'bsaneil' on ebay.co.uk He does a few 15mm Roman buildings.

What kind of temple are you thinking of, pm me and let me know, I do buildings by commission and maybe we can work something out.

I have seen them made with the columns used to decorate wedding cakes if you want to try diy

The rubber terrain fellows have a nice one that I use. It's got about a 3"x3" footprint.

Miniature World Maker I think is the company name.

I have the Miniature World Maker one too. I think they are out of business however. They stopped coming to conventions about 2 years ago.

That's just the NAmerican distributor Battlefield Designs. I'm pretty sure the manufacturer is still out there. Let me go google them…

Yup. they're in Australia.

I notice they're moving into resin stuff now too.

Yes, I spent some time browsing Miniature World Maker a few days ago too, prior to posting this thread. If they actually have any 15mm non-ruined Hellenistic/Roman temple, it isn't shown in their online catalogue --or I didn't recognize it as such :S

Same for JR Miniatures. Sure they produced a 15mm temple some time ago (and you still can find it using the website search engine), but it isn't shown any more in their catalogue --either browsing by the left-side menu bar, or checking the whole site map.

So it seems quite likely for these models to have run out of production. Anyway, it's maybe worth an e-mail to ask the makers for.
