WD and Chestnut Lodge (the wargaming club, not the other Chestnut Lodge) are putting on games on HMS Belfast on Feb 28th for the public between 10.00-5.00.

There are also games on Friday night, Saturday evening and Sunday am but these are not for the public.

There are three options: coming for the weekend and staying on board the ship, comming for the weekend and not staying on board the ship or just comming on the Saturday for the show 10.00-5.00

If you are comming to help run games on the Saturday there is no cost (there is a cost for the other two options see link for details).

The programme currently includes three lectures, games by Jim Wallam, John Curry, Tim Price MBE, Bob Cordery and a number of others.

It will be a marvellous opportunity to play some wargames in one of UKs top military attractions.

If you are interested, please let me or Jim Wallam (my co-conspirator) know.

That should be Jim Wallman.

The Saturday programme now includes talks by Professor Phil Sabin on Saturday at 11.00 and 1.30 on the use of wargames to understand military history and at 3.00 by Tim Price MBE on the use of wargaming in the British Army.

If you are a wargamer and thinking of visiting the great ship, this might be the weekend to do it.

Is that Jim Wallman who used to do Mega Games?

Gwydion23 Jan 2009 2:59 p.m. PST

It's the Jim Wallman who still does MegaGames:

Hi I'm actually not working that weekendSo a wizz up to HMS BElfast might be fun…Is there any parking nearby???

Editor HistoryWargamingProject16 Feb 2009 5:34 a.m. PST

Sadly there is no parking next to the ship (at least for cars), but there are three carparks just south of the ship.

Got my photo on that ship, shows me playing cards with sideburns and a large collared shirt, happy days the 70's.
