Someone did up SST Bugs using refraction paints, like they use for bike helmets. The paint seems to shift and change colors depending on the angle at which you view the object. I believe Duplicolor and rustoleum produce versions. I've seen the duplicolor version in an auto parts store once. It included a base coat, the refraction paint, and a top coat. I've seen the colour shift paint on Necrons – link but given these are 15mm figures I doubt they will have enough surface area to cover.
