OK, Last question about basing 15mm Old Glory Napoleonics, I promise
Can I fit 3 15mm Old Glory Napoleonic foot figures abreast on a 1 inch wide and 1/2 inch deep stand? Are there any poses that fit better than others? For those that use either 3 figure or 2 figure stands, what do you think? Is it fiddly to move units? How about the wear and tear on the figs? |

I base my 15mm figures (3 rank) on Empire basing, which is 3/8" frontage. That's 1 1/8" for three figures and I don't see why you can't squeeze another 1/8" out of them. They might have to touch if you do that, I don't know. I've got a lot of OG figures too. The only issue is ranking them up (when in column), but that's really only an issue with storage! As far as moving them around, they work fine this way. |

I put 3 on a 1x3/4 with no problem (ACW and FPW) |

Hi I base three Old Glory figs to a base size of 3cm x 1.5cm which is slightly bigger than you quote. This to me seems a comfortable size but you should be able to fit them onto your base sizes. Regarding poses I would go for march attack or shouldered muskets. The charging poses are fine but with the smaller base sizes the bayonets can sometimes be a bit fiddly when the unit is in column. But you could always use movement trays to overcome this. I used to include one and two figure bases to remove casualties but now use casualty figures as markers. You can follow the link below to see some of my pictures so you can judge the spacing for yourself if you like. link Regards Gav |

As Clay stated Prussians and Austrians use a 1 1/8" frontage and a 1/2" deep base for Empire and similar rules. 1" will be a little tight but it can be done. |

I gamed with a set of 7YW rules for a while that used three figure bases @ 3/8" per figure. I was doing Turks. Battle Honorrs fit fine, but some of the Old Glory, I had to file the edges of the figure bases slightly to get them to fit. No way they'd go three on a 1" stand. But it might just have been that particular pack. |

I put 2 ranks of 4 figures on a 30mm x 30mm stand and have a 30mm x 5 mm stand with 4 figures on it behind that,,, to represent a company of infantry. |

Should be fine you can get three ABs into 24mm so OG should be similar. I like the look of tight basing. I base on steel and use magnetic material to make a hidden tray under the bases so I can move en masse. |
