I'm not involved in running this, but there's a new combined gaming convention in about a month: GottaCon out on the west coast, in Victoria.

Miniatures, RPGs, cards, console & PC gaming – they're trying to get everyone out for this one!

I know a few of the other Victoria-area gamers are active on TMP (hi, Malcolm) but I hadn't seen a GottaCon annoucement yet so I thought I'd throw it out there.

Hopefully some of the Vancouver/Lower Mainland crew make it over, too!

I am tempted to go as some of my friends are running games:) I was supposed to put on an Ambush Alley Game with the Trojan bunny but couldn't due to time constraints…

I'm also tempted to go.

I'm putting on a game of Swashbuckler (Yaquinto) on the Friday eve using 28mm figs in a constructed tavern.

On Sunday I'm running a game of Sharp Practice: The Guns of Monte Matteo. Using perfidious means, the British are going to try to take out a dangerous battery of guns overlooking a pass. They'll need to do it without Gregory Peck and David Niven.

We hope to have a few games of Field of Glory on the Saturday but currently nothing is concrete.

Miniature games are only a small corner of what this Con is hoping to attract. CCGs, board games, collectible miniatures, roleplaying games, and a hockeysock full of computer gaming are their primary audience.

How close to the Victoria ferry docks (via Seattle) is the location?

About 5km. It is at the Pearkes Arena which is near the intersection of Burnside and Tillicum. You can get to Burnside from Douglas.

The Clipper from Seattle comes right into Victoria's Inner Harbour, which is right downtown; the #11 city bus goes right thru downtown to Pearkes Arena. There's a huge number of hotels & motels just north of downtown, pretty much along the busroute between there and Pearkes.

Cool, a place to play miniatures without having to clean out my basement first! Who knew?
