Ok, ok, I admit it, it's frustrating looking round all these manufacturer's sites trying to match some figures, only to find almost none of them seem to have photos!

So, here's the dilemma. My wife has a bunch of Romans that she picked off Ebay and is painting them up. But she has some cavalry and has decided she is a few horses short of a cavalry unit!

Anyone tell me who makes these, so I can order her some more?

There are 4 distinct pieces:
1. Standard bearer, rearing horse, tall standard (!)
2. Unarmoured horse, mailed rider, sword, javelin and oval shield
3. Part-armoured horse, mailed rider with long spear/lance, bow and oval shield
4. Armoured horse, mailed/padded rider with mace, long spear/lance and oval shield

The riders and shields are separate, except for the standard bearer, which is a one-piece casting. As they were bought off Ebay, it's possible the riders are not on the correct horses. The spears/javelins/lances are notably thin.

I even haave photos :-)

Anyone held ID these? I've been looking through the usual suspects, Essex, Donnington, Museum…

Geoff, not for certain but judging by the thin spears and the head of the top left horse in your second pic I would suggest Chariot Minis?

The standard bearer is definetly a Museum Miniatures.

The other three stike me as Outpost Wargames late Romans…I could be wrong.

Ooh, yes, Outpost for the cavalry (thank you!)…

Just trying to negotiate my way through the colourful patchwork of frames that is the Museum Miniatures website!

(Haven't found a photo gallery yet – anyone have a link to which figure range this might be, as the listing doesn't seem to tie up!)

Byzantine code BZ13P – on the listing for each range, if the code's underlined (that one is) clicking on it will get you a photo in the left hand sidebar….

Excellent – thanks

(What IS that banana wearing?)

A Zardoz costume, obviously…. :-p

…silly me, how obvious…

I knew you'd be kicking yourself for having to ask…. ;-)

No arguing with the answers.

But they also look very close to what the old Asgard 15mm castings looked like. The Asgard were two piece sperate horse and rider.
