Who makes a product called assulat group that is 6 20mm figures featuring the cast of Cross of Iron?

Striker03 Jan 2009 4:25 p.m. PST

I think Chiltern makes a set in 28mm.

Vintage Wargaming03 Jan 2009 4:45 p.m. PST

You're thinking of the FAA set,I'm not sure if this is the same set Stonewall list in the UK as Combat Miniatures German Infantry assault team

Top Gun Ace03 Jan 2009 5:21 p.m. PST

1st Corps does a character set in 28mm which is very nice.

AB would do suitable figures for 20mm – not specifically named as such, most likely, but still superb looking figs which should work nicely.

I would hate to see my nice memories of that film bludgeoned to death by stumpy 28mm figures…

Berlichtingen03 Jan 2009 7:01 p.m. PST

The FFA set is the characters from the movie

Horrocks04 Jan 2009 12:18 a.m. PST

yes it is FAAUSA you want, code is CGI22, a lovely little pack well worth the money

Tarleton04 Jan 2009 2:41 a.m. PST

Is it Platoon 20?

Private Matter04 Jan 2009 7:12 a.m. PST

I have the the FAA set and they are excellent. I second Horrocks' comments.

Dragon Master04 Jan 2009 9:19 a.m. PST

The company that makes those figures is FAA. It's funny how the title and post both say "20mm", but yet people chime in with what's available in 28mm.

Canuckistan Commander04 Jan 2009 9:47 a.m. PST

Thats OK, further my knowledge of figures and their maybe a person reading this looking for 28mm, although the 1st Corps are really 25mm in size according to mainly 28s.com

Have a look at the Series 1 German Army range EH04'Germans in Parkers' and EH03 'Stressed Officers', CoI was used as inspiration for some of those figures

Crunchy Frog12 Jan 2009 6:08 p.m. PST

And bloody good figures they are too, Elhiem! Keep up the great work! Please keep making them with standard bases rather than slotta as well!

I must confess, I've read the book many times (as well as Heinrich's other books), but never seen the movie. Those of you who loved the book: how would you rate the movie adaptation, not as "a movie," but as an adaptation of the book?

Thanks!

Elhiem13 Jan 2009 1:09 p.m. PST

As an adaptation of the book, its between ok and not very good.

The story is somewhat reversed in the film, Steiner is a lot more a rebel.

Having said that I loved the Film and the book.

Crunchy Frog13 Jan 2009 6:23 p.m. PST

Works for me, especially since you are one of the best D***ed figure producers and painters out there! :-)
