Build a series of 6 skirmish games in 6mm to reflect a period and or campaign. I chose Ultra Modern Iraq and Afghanistan, and Modern Vietnam. Why 6mm ?: I needed to keep the games small enough to be transported in a suitcase or carry on. I needed them to be very lightweight to avoid overweight bag charges. The highest Level I wanted to represent was Company down to squad. I needed miniatures compatible and familiar with current army training Aids. Almost everything I needed was available in this scale. The first Game: Ultramodern. ECP An Iraqi IP checkpoint screens the entry to a US ECP in the Green zone. Why this scenario: Standing Guard on an ECP is something everyone will do at one time or another. Showing the way a standard ECP is put together will allow suggestions on ways to make them safer and easier to close down when they shift position ( and ECP should never be permanent). The Game board is a length of 4 lane highway thus can be used to show A leaders Immediate actions upon differing threats using models of vehicles that they are actually using. Thus the game board becomes adaptable to train more then one scenario. What would I need and how would i build the Game Board: Material for board and general dimensions. The board may be a cut down terrain Mat these are available in 4x4 ft are light and fold able already flocked can be cut to whatever size needed of left as they are. The highway could be painted on or you could use sections of Sheet styrene suitably painted and weathered and cut to size. Fortifications Concrete barriers check, Sandbagged guard shacks and bunkers Check,Hesco Barriers Check, Dirt berms Check or can be made by hand,Connexs check Vehicles likely to be used on a ECP or Convoy: Abrams check, Bradley check,Humvee check, MRAPs check, Various soft skins Military check. Allied or PMC contractor,Embassy PRT type vehicles .(See notes of neutral and Opfor vehicles). Figures of soldiers check (Modern US or UK infantry). Figures of allied,Opfor and civilian Semi check. For Iraqi Police use Brush Fire warriors by simply painting these in the light blue and dark blue uniforms easy conversion (yes I know The uniforms have changed but its going to be a bear to come close to the US ACU, if you want to paint the new IP digital have at it ).Civilians use some of the women in Burka and children from the Modern Middle Eastern Civilian pack. Male civilians would have to be modified from that pack. or use properly dressed Arabs in z scale available on E-bay from Hong Cong. Allied Opfor and civilian vehicles: semi check,The toyata pickup truck for use by IPs,PMCs and civilians are in the Technical pack. Land rovers and other allied military vehicles check. Commercial trucks no check: i'm going to use a combination of WW2 and Modern stuff from the Brit (Fodden) German(Unimog)and continue to search for commercial transport in this scale. Sedans,Subcompacts and Vans sorta check I found a pack of 100 vehicles labeled 1/300 scale on EBay also a 50 Pack of cars and vans labeled z scale. Being cautious I ordered both packs. Good thing I did the ones labeled 1/300 look more like 3mm, The z scale ones will work tho a tad large. Can you help : yes Don't be a spelling and grammar cop please do make suggestions comments. please do send pick of ECPs with the following restrictions: pm me to send those pics to my private E-mail. depict ECPs that are no longer in use I repeat No Longer in Use. suggestions as to where i may acquire commercial type vehicles in 1/285 or 1/300 scale

There shouldn't be any photographs of ECP's floating around the internet. Why jeopardize soldiers' lives? |

Tuscaloosa I apreciate your concern with opsec if you reread the post you will find i stipulate no ECPs currently in use , Since no ECP is permanant and since none could follow any SOP do to evirionment(they are all different in order to meet tactical situation) any photos of ECPs no longer in use would not pose a danger to any soldiers lives. Photgraphs of ECPs can and have been found in general media sources as well as unit home pages and Blogs since the war started. I don't need to to say that if i thought this request violated opsec i would shut it down. God Bless and stay safe
