A couple of questions that I hope someone can answer for me . First – which UK based companies make buildings that would be compatible with 28mm figures ? I know of Grand Manner but the cost of this (very nice ) buildings rules them out of my budget . Second – do any companies produce bocage style hedges ? I have heard that The Last Valley produces some but they had gone out of business ( is this true ? ) . Any help would be much appreciated . |

The man behind the Last Valley is in prison, so he is out of the picture! Have you thought about making your own? There are lots of guides on the net to help you. |

For Eastern Front Snapdragon do some nice rural barns and a collective farmhouse but other than that I can't think of anyone else other than Dave at Grand Manner. I make my own buildings and it really isn't that hard. Have a look at Matakashi's Tea House for some inspiration! Alternatively get a company like TM terrain to do something for you but that can also be an expensive option. Oh – forgot to mention Fieldworks who are branching out into 28mm buildings. They are also not as expensive as Grand Manner. Just note there isn't that much to the range at the moment with just three apartment style buildings. Two of them are more suited to the middle east than WWII but the largest makes a great WWII apartment block. |

There's some useful barns and farm buildings at Magister Militum. Technically 25mm, will work for 28s. Also; Hovels have some stuff that's appropriate for bits of Europe and I think some Russian and Middle East as well. StoneHouse Miniatures has some very cheap medieval houses which ought to pass for Western Europe. Armourcast, Kennington, Black Cat Bases also have half-timbered stuff which would work. Amera's plastics could be made to work as Soviet or German city buildings. TSS have just started a very nice line in componentised buildings. Timbered and half-timbered stuff. Bocage hedges; link and link Snapdragon make some that might be suitable. Annoyingly I've seen someone else recently selling them in something like 6" resin sections, but I just can't recall where. |

You dont need much skill to make your own. I based mine on dollar store wooden rulers cut to various lengths. I then glued pieces of green pot scrubbers to the rulers. I then took clup foliage and glued that to the pot scrubbers. I did 20' of bocage for under 20$ Here is a pic or two. picture picture I did glue some sand to the bases and give them a coat of paint. |

If you want some cheap resin 28mm terrain then search on ebay for pmc_games. They do some generic buildings which can be picked up for as little as £5.00 GBP Best to search nearer the end of the week for a greater selection. auction |

PMC games are pretty good value, I've got some of their buildings and barricades. Nicely made and robust too. Their auctions seem go up on Mondays or Tuesdays and finish on Sundays. |
