Just wondering what games people will be using Zardoz figures for.

Myself – I intend to use them in a Judge Dredd game: "Running around in Budgie Smugglers. 20 Years"

Bob Hume01 Jan 2009 1:25 p.m. PST

Pulp by Gaslight.

LeadLair7601 Jan 2009 1:28 p.m. PST

Warhammer 40k slaaneshi cultists????

Griefbringer01 Jan 2009 1:28 p.m. PST

I think the best would be to publish rules for Zardozque skirmishing in the apocalyptic future.

I would suggest the rules to be simply named as "Gun is Good".

Griefbringer

Sysiphus01 Jan 2009 1:51 p.m. PST

I'd like to pit them against all the WF zombies being produced….like a new version of, "Night of the Living Dead".
I'd have the Zardoz "clones" attempting to save mankind……

Maybe I could find dice that have guns in place of the pips…..

(tongue firmly in cheek)

John the OFM01 Jan 2009 2:00 p.m. PST

I bought 6 of them.
I cut the gun away form 4 of them, and converted them into Sedan Chairmen. The other two retained their weapons, so will serve as henchmen.
These distinctions exist in my head, as I brainstorm the concepts for my sedan chair racing and combat game.
BTW, the chairmen will be carrying the Eurka Pax Limpopo Ophelia Phondlewell figure, in a miniature dollhouse chafing dish.

They are just the part for Golgo Island. If Neal hadn't made those, I would have done something similar.
Zed was one of the figures that took part in the first
multiplayer playtesting game of Golgo Island, a couple years back.

It's excellent to have such figs available ; I'll definitely have to buy some and do me a little force of Exterminators of the great Golgo :)

RavenscraftCybernetics01 Jan 2009 2:26 p.m. PST

a multiplayer game where each player controls a tabernacle that sends out brutals to raid the other tabernacles feilds.
the zeds have to defend the feilds and their own brutals.
mayhem ensues.
ymmv,
R.

Napoleonics, of course.

I'm thinking Brunswick's "Avantgarde" battalion, as these minis certainly are avant-garde … wink

Jerzei kind of beat me to it. I'm thinking the Attack of the Middle Guard at Waterloo with Zardoz figures.

I like the 'Zed clones' saving mankind from ZOMBIES in a Post-Apoc world idea….though 'sedan chair racing' in VSF era like John the OFM suggests…would be second on the list…

Now if we had some 'Kwai Chang Caine' figures (from Kung Fu/The Legend Continues)…and toss those in…with Golgo Island, 28 days/Weeks/Resident Evil and a 'touch' of ID4…(space ZOMBIES/alien virus/Plan 9 'revamped')…and maybe some TRIFFIDS and KILLER TOMATOS in a more serious 'vein'….

I think that would about 'do it'…

Slishfully,
Sgt DWW-btod and in serious need of therapy…ECT with a TASER at 50kvolts will 'do' in a pinch…ala' Dr. Lizardo/John Lithgow from Buckaroom Banzai…

Henrix01 Jan 2009 2:49 p.m. PST

They would do very nice in Mutants and Death Ray Guns!

richarDISNEY01 Jan 2009 3:15 p.m. PST

Leland, yer sick. Cool idea, but sick.

I am gunna use them as an odd 'drop in force' in any and all of my games.

Doctor Bedlam01 Jan 2009 5:21 p.m. PST

I was thinking of gaming out the "Exterminators vs. Apathetics" scenario from the movie, using the Chain Reaction rules…

Olaf the hairy01 Jan 2009 5:47 p.m. PST

who makes Zardoz figures?

Syrinx001 Jan 2009 6:55 p.m. PST

Only one manufacturer is ahem, gifted enough, to make Zardoz. That would be Neal at theWarStore.

I'll definitely be picking up a group to add to my original Z's. I figure they would work for some crazied plup cultists, 40K temple guards or a penal squad. They are eye catching…

Sysiphus01 Jan 2009 7:09 p.m. PST

Wondering if I can just get the "heads" for my Mongol Army Trophy stands!!!!

Natives of a newly-discovered continent by mid-18th C. somewhere in the Pacific link
Or at least, among them, a Warrior Fraternity, Dog-Warriors fashion. Shadowforge Tribals -and perhaps Maidenhem- (all converted as for weaponry: matchlocks, plug bayonets…) would provide their feminine counterpart (Maiden of the Haquebute, Aiel fashion?).

mashrewba02 Jan 2009 7:22 a.m. PST

I was going to put together a Zardoz HOTT army in 15mm but I only got as far as Arthur Frane-converted from a Minifigs Rennaisance Turk!
Might come back to this one with some Peter Pig stuff.

Olaf the hairy03 Jan 2009 10:47 a.m. PST

I've been thinking about a 15mm HotT army too (the size of the flying head would be liability in 28mm).

Native Americans with guns might be the closest I could get for the rank and file, I'd sculpt masks onto half of them).

shelldrake03 Jan 2009 2:38 p.m. PST

The Zardoz figures would work well in a pulp game too… sort of a cargo cult type of thing.

abdul666lw03 Jan 2009 11:44 p.m. PST

OK, I'm a Lace Wars freak, but…
with some conversions of weapons and ammo bandoliers,
perhaps with some headswapping giving them a large, befeathered, beret:
the 'Inner Body Guard' of some Electoress / Grande Duchesse
(Elizabeth Bathory meets Catherine II?)

Warbeads05 Jan 2009 3:54 a.m. PST

What Game?

Melt the Mini , of course.

With gloves, mask and isolation gown…

Gracias,

Glenn

Nappy-oleonics of course.

I have a strange feeling that they will be appearing as minions in an upcoming Fantastic Worlds Campaign..;)
