Stopped by the local Meijers today and saw this case of foil covered boxes sitting under what was left of the Star Wars Action Figures section.

These are small scale model kits of the Eta-2 Actis Jedi Starfighters (Anakin & Obi Wan's from Episode III), the ARC-170 Clone Starfighter, TIE Fighter, TIE-1x Advanced Prototype (aka Darth Vader's TIE Fighter) and the X-Wing. These kits retail for $10 USD and are prepainted snap kits.

They are not built to any particular scale, but are simply designed to fit the package they're sold in. So they're roughly about 4" long. The dimensions of the assembled kit are printed on the back, so you can probably do some math and figure out what the scale of the model will be.

I guessed the Jedi Starfighters would be close to 28mm scale and purchased Obi-Wan's. Sure enough upon opening it, and looking at the size of the pilot figure he's probably closer to True 25mm scale. However 28mm it shouldn't look out of place with the 28mm figures. Hoiwever the Astromech droid in the socket looks larger and looks comparable to the 28mm R2 units. The cockpit is large enough, and you can build it without the included figure. So you can probably fit your own figures in them.

The ARC-170 is clearly not 28mm or anything close, it's wingspan is about 4", and I'd hazard to guess at about 10mm scale. The TIEs may be between 20-28mm and the X-Wing is probably 10-15mm.

I haven't assembled the kit yet, but aside from the stripes that were obviously machine painted the paintjobs are nothing to brag about (or even charge money for). Obi-Wan's face is totally a mess of colors running together.

Overall, this would make a good piece of terrain or objective for any Star Wars mini game setting.

I recommend their snowspeeder. Very nice kit and the same width as the WOTC model, except it is somewhat shorter, the overall size is slightly bigger than 1/72nd, but should be useful for 28mm.

That's a pretty good deal, since the ones I have seen are $15.00, or more.

The kits that you mention are definitely cool. The Jedi-Starfighter is approximately 1:60 scale. Here are a few scale pix of the Jedi-Starfighter with a Grymn from Hasslefree Miniatures (25mm scale space Dwraf approximately 22mm tall):

Here's what I made out of the Arc 170 fighter:
