What is a stake-and-rider fence?

A stake-and-rider fence is a common stone wall with pairs of wooden stakes stuck a few feet apart in an X-fashion across the wall. A "rider" rail is then laid in the notches of the upper half of the X's along the fenceline, parallel to and above the stone wall.

Very common here in southern Pennsylvania in the 19th century…

Okay got it. I am using three of these for the triangle field near devils den in 40mm. Just never knew they had a name. I assume you treat them as stone fences in JRIII?
