I'm not an aviation buff but need to paint up a couple of C47's (1/300) for my late WW2 gaming.

Can anyone help with reference to the colours i should use for paratroop transport aircraft for Normandy/Arnhem, if possible those used by the UK air force please ?

In a lot of pics it looks like some kind of muddy brown/green with invasion stripes for normandy but would there have been any type of camo pattern used ?

Cost d'arm codes would be amazing but any ref to vallejo or another brand would be great as i can match from there.

cheers

Brown and green camo, "sky" undersides, eg:

I use Vallejo beige-brown and reflective green, with a black wash over the top, I'd need to check what colour I use for Sky – not done any in a while….

Those in US service would be Vallejo Brown Violet with a light grey underside and D-Day stripes.
