I have downloaded all the battles from the "Waterloo Napoleons Last Battle" link, and I still can't play any of them. If anybody out there knows what I'm doing wrong please, please tell me. I have both cd's (Austerlitz: Napoleon's Greatest Victory) and most of the downloads are from the second cd. Thank You.

Anyone else getting deja vu?

Steve Hazuka16 Dec 2008 9:50 a.m. PST

You have Vista don't you.

Arteis16 Dec 2008 9:52 a.m. PST

If this is an older computer game you are talking about (?), then maybe you can't play it any more on modern operating systems?

Arteis16 Dec 2008 10:07 a.m. PST

… or vice versa?

Who asked this joker16 Dec 2008 10:13 a.m. PST

It does work on XP just fine. It may not if you have Vista.

jpattern216 Dec 2008 11:27 a.m. PST

Stifled.

BlackJoke16 Dec 2008 11:53 a.m. PST

If Vista try "Run as Administrator" required for Battlefield 2 maybe others as well.

reggie88 – this is a MINIATURE games board, not a PC games board.

CamelCase16 Dec 2008 1:52 p.m. PST

You are definitely at the WRONG internet site.

reggie8816 Dec 2008 2:18 p.m. PST

Then what internet site do I go to?

badger2216 Dec 2008 2:34 p.m. PST

One that deals with PC games. Sorry but this is just for tabletop gameing.

We only discuss buttonhole lace and mitre caps for the Seven Years War here.

Oh, and if Balrogs have wigs.

nsolomon9916 Dec 2008 7:04 p.m. PST

John,

I thought we'd already been through that one and all agreed that only after the mid point of the Second Age had Balrog's emerged with wigs, initially showing up in the Moria "Colony"?

If we're going to re-open that old chestnut we'd best get some popcorn ready :)

Nick

GarrisonMiniatures17 Dec 2008 12:37 a.m. PST

Didn't realise Balrogs were fashion conscious.

aecurtis Fezian17 Dec 2008 7:56 a.m. PST

Some get a little sensitive about it when they're undergoing chemo.

What is the command and control radius for a Balrog?

Robert le Diable17 Dec 2008 9:30 a.m. PST

Don't know what one of them is, but it's nearly an anagram of "Gorbals" (and more than one of them would be).

Reggie, please read what others have said above. This is NOT THE RIGHT PLACE to ask this question. Try the boards linked to by Stagger Lee.

If you persist we'll have to get Bill to nuke this thread. At least you can't say we haven't tried to be helpful.

Don't forget Zombie Balrogs?

The Warrior Pole10 Feb 2009 12:03 a.m. PST

But why does the balrog have a whip … there's the true question! Or is this something that came with the wings?

GarrisonMiniatures10 Feb 2009 3:58 a.m. PST

Whip, wigs, lots of leather……..is it a female Balrog?

7e Militie10 Feb 2009 10:13 a.m. PST

You're right…this discussion is so much more appropriate to the website than discussing a PC game…

Murvihill10 Feb 2009 3:31 p.m. PST

But did Balrogs invent bricoles?

reggie8810 Feb 2009 5:18 p.m. PST

Am I the the only one guilty of this? I only asked because this is a NAPOLEONIC board and the link has to do with only NAPOLENIC downloads. I did not know that there were some narrow minded people on this board. I thought since we are all wargamers, we would be more understanding. But I see I was wrong.

Maxshadow10 Feb 2009 11:45 p.m. PST

STAGGER gave YOU the THREE relevant TMP links. What ELSE do YOU want FROM us? Doesn't matter how many times you write NAPOLEONIC or NAPOLENIC or how many threads you start or loudly you cry about how unhelpful we are. We don't know the answer to your problem.

Grizwald11 Feb 2009 4:26 a.m. PST

"I only asked because this is a NAPOLEONIC board "

This is a Napoleonic MINIATURES board. As Maxshadow says, we do NOT discuss computer games here (Napoleonic or any other) and we don't know the answer to your problem.

"I thought since we are all wargamers"

Yes, we are wargamers. That is, we push little lead or plastic men around on a table top. I do not regard someone who plays COMPUTER games as a wargamer.

GJM FIGURINES11 Feb 2009 4:32 a.m. PST

And that goes for board gamers as well. So take that. It should also apply to those who use cubes or cardboard markers on the terrain board. And those who do not know the correct colour for the facings of Austrian IR#16 in 1809. Oh and anyone that does not use just D6s or D10s while I am at it.

"And that goes for board gamers as well."

Yup, there's a Boardgames Board over on TMP Plus.

"So take that."

Take what?

"It should also apply to those who use cubes or cardboard markers on the terrain board."

Not if they use miniatures at the same time!

"Oh and anyone that does not use just D6s or D10s while I am at it."

Everyone uses D6s and/or D10s – don't they?

mashrewba13 Feb 2009 7:13 a.m. PST

Can I ask about Tomb Raider…

Ivan the Reasonable13 Feb 2009 9:26 a.m. PST

Oh Dear, poor old Reggie, he may tuck his shirt into his underpants, but at least his head is not stuck up his own arse. Ivan.
