There are some interesting photos of an historical Civil War site you may not be familiar with – the Skirmish of Hanover Junction during the Gettysburg Campaign. President Lincoln's stopover here in southern Pennsylvania on the way to deliver the Gettysburg Address is commemorated by a nice statue and memorial garden.

Nearby are four vintage 10-pounder Parrott Rifles from the Phoenixville Iron Company (PIC) which were used by the Union Army during the Civil War. This is the site of a skirmish on June 27, 1863, on the weekend before the Battle of Gettysburg.

Today, Hanover Junction is a popular tourist spot in southern York County, and is a major stop on the York County rail trail (a heavily used bicycle path that runs down to Maryland).
