I'm looking for an extremely respectable weapons reference book as a Christmas present. Color pics or images is a plus. The recipient is a 50 yr old male with a good background on this subject. Hand weapons is preferable but siege weapons is ok too. Please help! |

If you can find a copy there is Arms & Armour of the Medieval Knight by David Edge and John Miles Paddock. It has lots of good information from the 11th c. to the 16th c. and has a tonne of nice illustrations. It's a great overview of medieval and Renaissance arms and armour and is my go to book when needing to find out something quickly on the subject. David S. |

I would highly reccommend 'the medeival soldier' by Gerry Embleton and John Howe- sumptuous colour photos- armour, weapons, under garments, hand guns, bows, and interesting sections on food etc- seems to centre on Swiss and Burgundians as the authers live in Switzerland |

" Stones Glossary. " is the one you want. But if he is into weapons that much he may already have it! |
