I was browsing the Osprey Remagen campaign book, and came across a potential game scenario for Check your 6: the Luftwwaffe attacks on the bridge. I game in 1/144 scale, mainly because of the prepaints, 21st Century, and I just like the feel and size. I can pretty much cover any P-51s, P-47s, Me-262s, Fw-190s and so on, just from Wal-Mart. However, a little Google tells me that I need British Tempests too, as well as the Arado-234. So, who makes these in 1/144, either pre-paints or kits? 1/160 is OK, too, as far as I am concerned. |

True North has the Tempests. Kevin |

Academy makes a 1/144 kit of the Tempest, so that subject is covered in white metal and plastic. |

No cheap option for the 234 afaik – Dragon / DML did a kit, but I've not seen it for years, while IXO do a diecast. |

The Dragon/DML kit of the Ar 234 looks to be 1/72. I didn't see any of the IXO currently on Ebay, they tend to run about $30 USD each when available. |

Must be going senile – I could've sworn they did one in 144, but you're right – searching around I can only find the 1/72 ones

IXO/IXJ does do a diecast Ar-234 in 1/144 link link Seems to be $29.95 USD everywhere. Wyatt |

That kind of puts the skids on having a raid with 4 of them
One Google link said 4 were shot down on one raid. It doesn't say how many made it back. |

one of the prepaint companies has a AR 234. I cannot recall the MAnufacturers name
it comes prepainted but disassembled. I can almost visualize the box, (I think it is either balck with red trim or red with black trim. But it was an asian manufacture. They did an UHU at the same time. |

I have a friend who regularly orders Japanese pre-paints. I would appreciate that name. |

I remember that Ar 234 model, Troy. It was in either one of the Popy or F-toys Luftwaffe releases. I didn't mention it because: It went OOP several years ago, and I couldn't find one on Ebay when I looked yesterday, not even in one of the online 'stores' for an exhorbitant price. Nor could I find it in the HLJ catalog, even listed as discontinued. I think that bird has flown. |

No wonder the bridge stood

Takara's Famous Airplanes of the World Series Two had 3 different Ar 234 models but are almost impossible to find. |

1/144th Direct was selling them on EBay in the summer for around 12ukp, he doesn't have any listed at the moment though |

There are a couple on eBay, if you want to pay $30 USD apiece. A bit out of my price range. |

This lot? auction . Very nice semi kit, I have 3 that I got from Ebay. |

As far as I know there are only two models available – the Takara ones ( I have a couple sets, but I collect everything WW2 1/144 aircraft ) and potentially a resin model from AirAlex ( airalex.com/KITSFORSALE.html ) halfway down is the listing, but is not shown as available. I believe that he either gets them from another manufacturer or casts them himself. I have never actually seen one of the resin ones. -Binhan |

For the 1/144 models I could never find, I eventually went with a fellow who handcarves balsa wood models to order. He regularly has listings up on ebay. His prices were $8.00 USD for fighters and $15.00 USD for multi-engine planes, which is a lot cheaper than your other options. And the models were decent. |
