Brian and I had another FOG game. Brian commander the Pyrrhic army and I commanded the Romans. Things did not go well for me and in a farmers field somewhere in South of Italy, my commander fell on his sword. link Once again, an excellent write up by Brian with good pics. Mike C |

Nice report, and plenty of pictures. |

I like the way you flock your bases. Do you just paint them brown and then scatter the flocking material, or do you use brown flocking and put some green over it? |

Nice to see the pikes triumph over pila. Good report and pictures. Makes you wonder just how bad the quality of pikes and/or their generals were by the time of say Magnesia and Pydna? |

Sundance, Brian (the owner of the figs in the AAR) drybrushes his bases, there's no flock. Brian(Pyrrhos) did an excellent job in scattering my battle line. His good battle plan and my poor decisions lost me the game. I'm definitely looking for some payback ;) Mike C |

Pyrrhus was an experienced commander and in this period of Roman history the legions were very hit and miss, depending largely on their leadership. I do not believe that Rome was yet using standing legions but still calling folks from their farms when they had to fight. Rome did not become a really tightly knit fighting force till their long Punic Wars just a few decades later. |
