Can you tell me what colours from Vallejo or from GW would you use to paint a mule?

I've never seen the M274 in anything but OD, so VMC 887 Brown Violet.

Mules come in as many colors as horses:

They do have light muzzles instead of dark ones. I found that made my Askari mules look the part.

Regardless of the color used, I would make sure that they were dingy in shading.
