I am a relatively new Dad (2 year old) looking for a good outlet for my wargaming hobby. I am hoping to find or organize a small group (initially) of like minded gamers looking to meet at a local FNGS or at one of our homes (even my home occasionally) for community terrain building, figure painting, rules testing, and gaming. I am most interested in Scifi 28mm and WWII 15mm but I could be convinced easily convinced to try something new. Any interest?

What is FNGS?

I'm in Arvada. I'd be interested, but my work schedule is a bit screwy

I'm in NYC but noticed the excellent store Attacix. Perhaps you'd find some gamers there.

There is the Denver Gamers Association, they put on a few shows a year and they have a website denvergamers.com so you mightbe able to hook up with a group from there.

Berlichtingen,

I have a rather strange schedule myself with work and family. I was hoping I could find a group with some flexibility to it. I moved recently from being in Valhalla's neighborhood to Attactix neighborhood. I actually live closer to DTC now but that wouldn't stop me If I had a good group to game with.

Try the Colorado Military Historians. Our still-ancient and outdated website is here:
cmhweb.org/home.htm
But you can get contact info.

Meets every Friday and the 2nd Sunday of the month.

Thanks everyone for the links to the large groups here in Denver. All due respect, but I am still hoping to put together something a little more small scale and more time flexible.

Berlichtingen,I am interested in making contact with you do you know anyone else or anywhere to meet?

Attactix has acted as a meeting place for 15 years. There is also a contact board in the miniatures game room where you can also post a note, for free.

All the suggestions above a great, too! We certainly have a lot of historical gamers in the Denver area who are active. Shouldn't be too hard to link up with a few for some regualr gaming sessions and comradery!

Hi

I was one of the founders of DGA…and I cannot recommend going to ATTACTIX enough. Don't live there anymore, but always make the effort when I am there. Sometimes I even talk to Tom!

I love Attactix, a great place to meet people for sure, I play in a semi-regular axis and allies group there.

Smoke303 Dec 2008 4:43 p.m. PST

OK fine I will try it another way. : )

Is there anyone who plays at, works in, lives in, commutes-through, heard of, or seen on a map the greater Denver area, who is looking for a SMALL game group with an open mind and a FLEXIBLE schedule?

A large gaming group sounds good to some people but not me. No offense to the large Denver area gaming groups. I know your reputations and have seen some of you games, very impressive. But I am looking for a small group or other individuals who are interested in starting a small home based gaming group.

Ahhh I feel much better….

Its like Dobbs says, "Too much is better then not enough."

Hi

When we started the DGA in the late 70s, I was a new dad. What I did was go to then center of gaming, Bonnie Brae Hobbies, and asked THEM. They had a board and kept track of groups. And I visited and talked to a lot of groups before I settled on the group that fit.

I would get a contact with the DGA which keeps track of usable people and get a list of contacts.
