I am not sure how to store 1/32 figures. I have heard using foam, cardboard, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks All

1/32 is about 50mm, right?

Unless you want a display case, I recommend something that you are comfortable using to transport your figures. Then they are ready to take anywhere, whether cross country to a convention or across your house to your game room.

Have a look at the commercial figure storage solutions and see if they are what you want and in your price range. Their modularity and customizability should be considered, and you may want to lean towards something sold at your Friendly Local Game Store so you can help keep them in business.

These consist of a soft or hard (or rigid soft) case with modular foam trays in various depths with different sized cutouts to hold the figures. Figures in these cases are entirely surrounded by soft foam during transport.

Google or search TMP for "Figures In Comfort", "Army Transport", "Sabol Designs" … there are several others whose names I misremember (sorry all -- please post). Also the Citadel cases from Games Workshop are a little pricey but very sturdy -- they don't have customizable foam interior trays, so for 50mm you'd probably need to snip smaller compartments into larger, or purchase customizable trays of the same size from another vendor -- but the cases are really worth looking at.

If a dedicated figure storage case is not for you, many miniatures players adapt hardware organizer cases.

Last, you can get your own cases and make your own foam tray interiors. I've done this myself using handgun cases and foam from furniture stores stuck together with hot glue. I like being able make a carrying solution for any size figure, but on the other hand it's more effort that takes me away from my painting.

These figuresincomfort.net are what I'm moving all my figure storage gradually over to. UK based but I'm sure that there are US equivalents.

Plano makes a plastic storage container that will hold 1/32 figs. Of course mine are mounted individually so multi based stands would be an issue. I'd probably use a sweater box or similar for them.

Thanks,

John

I base all of my figures – from 2mm on up on steel bases. Then I load them in these:

Of course, since I sell those that's the answer you'd expect, right? The larger box is around 4" deep so even a tall 1/32 figure would fit.

It is worth a look at our KR Multicase, particularly with the F3 trays, the compartments are large enough for the 1/32 scale if around 50mm as above.

Many thanks KR

My 1/32nd figures are jumbled up in a shoe box. I wouldn't recommend this method of storage but they have lasted 30+ years like that – Airfix Commandos, Paras, Germans etc etc

If that doesn't appeal, then A4 box files lined wth steel paper and magnabse on the bottom of the figs, same as my 28s.

By John 54 should know. He puts on fabulous gigantic 1:35 scale games using Tamiya, Dragon, etc at shows in the UK.
