Does anyone make the German K-Wagen in 6mm?

GHQ in 1:285

They weren't ever actually used, were they?

Not that this should stop anyone wanting a model of one, just asking. I wouldn't mind a 28mm one myself.

I don't see them in the GHQ catalog.

Two prototypes were under construction when WWI ended.

Not that I know of although you can get them in 1/72nd scale and 1/35th.

I took him to mean this, Saber6 (as this is the WWI board). I think the follow-up post confirms it:

Yes, a big scary and somewhat impractical tank. A 1918 Ogre.

Yes, I mean the big scary and MASSIVELY impractical ogre of a tank which almost was the K Panzerkampfwagen.

I thought that it might be fun to throw both prototypes into a 6mm game and/or modify a couple 6mm models into 1/1200 land ironclads.

I'm not surprized that nobody makes them.

Looks like scratchbuilding is the order of the day then.

Here are some plans:

(ignore the Russian text, just scroll down to the pictures)

According to Wikipedia, a model in 1/300 would be about 43mm long, 20mm wide and about 10mm high. That's one big tank!!

DyeHard21 Nov 2008 3:52 p.m. PST

I have built one up for 15mm.
I would think in 6mm it would be a snap.
Here is a link to what I did:

I have plans there as well:

They look like they are based off the same source as rge Russian site.

I way I go about is shown here:

But I do not know how well this would scale down to 6mm.

"I'm not surprized that nobody makes them."

Given that they are available in other scales, I'm actually surprised that they aren't available in 6mm.

Big scary German tank? And no model of it??
