Was this post the first reference to painting pledges TMP link or was there an earlier thread?

I do not know, but based on Bill's post (the second reply) it sure sounds like there was something earlier than this. 'Course I wasn't even a member then.

Wasn't it invented by Larry Leadhead? Or possible his wife?

I suspect that may be the first instance of the pledge. There was even a poll about it a couple days after that post.

I have never approved of the Pledge, In this economy, we owe it to the manufacturers to keep them afloat.

Cash in your 401Ks, (they're Bleeped text anyway) and invest iin lead and pewter. You can also line your basement fallout shelter, for when Iran gets its nuke.

Lead! Lead! And more lead!

What's nonsensical about it? Seems like a great way to control buying frenzies…

vtsaogames21 Nov 2008 2:13 p.m. PST

Actually, I only have two parcels purchased this year that are not yet painted:
16 28mm British Rifles from Albans
48 or so Feudal Normans and Saxons from LKM

much better than my usual
