Photos of the Longstreet's Assault at Gettysburg are up beginning at link

The scenario was run using Carnage & Glory 2 at MillenniumCom'08 in Austin last weekend.

Ground scale is roughly 50 paces = 1 inch, with 1 inch = 24ft on the vertical scale. The boards used were home made (note that the boulders of Little Round Top and Devil's Den STILL have not been finished). Although C&G2 keeps track of actual strength, the units were based according to JRIII (30 men per figure).

The northernmost point of the board is the Weir farm along Emmitsburg Road, meaning all of Hood, McLaws, plus Wilcox and Lang's Bdes of Anderson's division are in the CSA OOB. It will take another board to cover the remainder of Anderson's division's attack.

Overall the game ran very well, particularly considering it was the first real playing of the scenario on the board. With a few very minor special rule adjustments, the scenario should be very historical. Mainly the issues had to do with proper classification of the various types of cover and the timing of Hood and Vincent's advances/release.

Game ended after 13 turns (about 8 hours of real time) at 6:30pm (historical time) in a minor Union victory. The CSA did not stagger their advance much and by the close of gaming had about spent itself.

Wow! Great photos, they give a great sense of sweeping, epic action! Must have been great fun.

Great tables. I don't think I've ever seen so many fences in my life. :)

I still have this horrible, horrible recurring desire to do 15mm ACW, but then I look at my mass of unpainted 15mm Napoleonic minis and come to my senses.

Wow! Thanks for sharing these photos. Motivated me to watch "Gettysburg" for the zillionth time.

Lovely terrain and beautifully presented, but 8 hours to play 13 turns!! That works out at more than 30 minutes per turn! Way too much head banging for me …

Duke,
Great looking terrain. I love all the fences, stone walls and fields. 13 turns in 8 hours doesn't sound bad to me. Thats' how my games usually go. Never finish them in a day.

Even the miniature wargames are bigger in Texas!

most players were new to the system, so at the end we were running 30 minutes per turn. With 7 players and 100 units per side I thought it went fast being an all day Con game players never seemed to get bored. Plans are to leave set up and knock out several turns a sitting

Be interesting to see if it plays faster in JRIII

Very nice looking board and figures! Helps me get back to work on my own 15mm civil war figures. Thanks for the inspiration
