I've been looking over TFL's "Sharpe Practice" and musing on playing some beach actions. Does anyone make suitable miniatures? I'd like to field figures that look like they just stepped out of the pages of a Forester or O'Brian novel.

40mm would be even better, but I realize that's a long shot.

Foundry has what you are looking for:

Yeah, the foundry figures are great. Steve Barber miniatures also has some nice ones. As does Britania.

Britannia have a 28mm range:

Tradition do a few figures in 30mm:

Foundry doesn't have the naval officers I'm looking for. These link look promising, but again, no officers. The Steve Barber look very nice. Would they work with Old Glory or Foundry Napoleonic French?

Steve Barber's might work with OG/Foundry; they're a little shorter than the Front Rank/Elite/Eagle cluster.

They're VERY nice figures, crisp, detailed -- I liked them a lot but sadly the height difference really showed within units.

Redoubt do a Marines landing party and also a suitable boat and rowing figures.

Also Parkfield have a few landing party figures in the Peninsular range.

The real problem is that no one makes enough French sailors, at least if you want to do boarding actions a la Master and Commander.

Try Newline designs they have a nice 28mm range that is reasonably comprehensive with both French and British sailors etc.

For 40mm figures suitable for a naval landing party, take a look at the Workbench over at the Miniature Service Centre:

Although this is all AWI stuff, scroll down the page a bit, and you'll find some sailors which I think could work well for the Napoleonic period.
