I've been looking around at various manufacturers (Grand Manner, Monolith, etc…) for some ancient galleys that are built to accomodate 28mm figures mounted on slottabases (it'll be a mix of Crocodile Games, Games Workshop, and Foundry figures, mostly).

They'll be used for fantasy gaming, so I'm not deeply attached to any specific time period, as long as they're pre-Roman looking: Egyptian, Phoenician, or Greek.

Nothing that I've seen yet looks like it'd work – I expect that some features of the historic ships would need to be exaggerated to accomodate the slottabases – wider aisles and hatches, stuff like that.

Are there any manufacturers that make a ship that'll suit my needs, or do I need to start sketching up a design for my own?

I was looking for something like this earlier in the year for something similar and I was having a hard time with that. Although I was looking for something that was close to greek in design and look.

There were a couple that I found: flagshipgames.com/galley.htm

They also have a Trireme list on their catalog site but there are no pictures link

Ahhh, cool, I've seen a few of those in person, and they're quite nice.

Shame about the lack of pictures on the trireme, though – that's probably the ship I'm the most interested! (isn't that always the way…)

Does anyone have pics of the trireme they can share?

Probably anyone who makes galleys.
Unlike sailing ships, you need not have any rigging to get in the way of fat bases and fat fingers. Not even a little bit!

I haven't seen theirs, but Old Glory makes galleys in 28mm too.

Monolith makes two Egyptian ships:

They aren't galleys but they are nice looking models.

They also have two Trojan ships:

Ahhhhhhhhh-you've already seen the Monolith ships, very good.

You know the older I get the lower my reading comprehension gets. Soon it'll just be picture stories for me.

That and warm Tapioca.
