Subject: Fiesler Storch
Manufacturer: Old Glory UK link
Scale: 15mm
Medium: Resin with metal detail parts
Price: £9.00 GBP

The kit consists of two resin parts (fuselage and wing) and around 20 metal detail parts (horizontal stabs, wheels, skis, exhaust stacks, struts, tail wheel, more sturts, prop hub, MG, and still more struts). The kit includes a diagram which indicates the location of the various parts. For the most part the components went together well after some trimming and cleaning. The kit had a number of small air pockets on the bottom of the fuselage but they were easy enough to fill. I glued the wings in place first, then added the landing gear struts, and finally the wing support struts. This seemed to work well and I wasn't bothered with trying to hold wings & struts & landing gear & the fuselage & the glue all at the same time. I did the same thing with the tail. I attached the horizontal stabs and then trimmed and attached their struts. The kit comes with both wheels and skis. Wingspan is just over 5.5 inches.

Recommendation: I recommend having some modeling experience before attempting this kit.

Other: The kits are available from the UK. Postage to Virginia (USA) wasn't bad at all. Andy was very helpful with the whole international order thing.

Post assembly:
Decals: I-94 Enterprises i-94enterprises.com for the national insignia (Old Glory UK carries some I-94 decals). The letters and yellow fuselage stripe are from MicroScale.
Paint: Vallejo Model Colors #064 pale blue, #086 Luft Camo
green, #100 Black Green
Primer: Rust-Oleum Gray Automotive Primer
Matte Finish: Krylon Crystal Clear Matte

Very nice looking, indeed.

All it needs now is a Hurri sliding in behind it…. :-)
