Subject: Polikarpov I-15 Manufacturer: True North Miniatures link Scale: 1/144 Medium: White Metal Price (webstore): $6.00 USD The True North Miniatures I-15 is a multi-part kit consisting of eight parts (fuselage-tail-lower wing assy, top wing, 2x wing struts, cowling, landing gear assy, 2x wheels). The lower wing is rather delicate and easily bent. The mini is somewhat sturdier once the top wing and struts are attached. Assembly was a bit tricky but with a little patience things turned out okay in the end. The control surfaces are outlined with very fine lines. The minis came with decals but I decided to use some I-94 Enterprises decals that I had. I added Reviresco 1/144 scale pilots to the minis to give them a little more personality. Recommendation: Not for beginners. Post assembly: Decals: I-94 Enterprises Paint: Vallejo Model Colors #156 Pale Gray Blue, #081 Medium Olive, and #127 Ochre Brown Primer: Rust-Oleum Gray Automotive Primer Matte Finish: Krylon Crystal Clear Matte picture picture picture Kevin |

You did a great job. As usual. All metal 1/144 biplane minis need a wing stagger template, like the Reviresco Gloucester Gladiator comes with.. Then, you can just drill out strut holes, do the Houdini "Girl in a basket pierced by swords" trick with brass rod, superglue, and clip and file smooth. |
