Subject: MS.406
Manufacturer: True North Miniatures link
Scale: 1/144
Medium: White Metal
Price (webstore): $6.00 USD

The True North Miniatures MS.406 is a one piece casting. The minis had just a little pitting on the right side of the fuselage and a little on top of the cowling. I filled the tiny holes with a bit of gap-filling super glue and some two-part putty. The minis came with the decals shown in the pictures below.

Recommendation: Nice little kit, I recommend it for all experience levels. (I picked up some more of these as a part of a future Finnish project.)

Post assembly:
Decals: True North Miniatures
Paint: Vallejo Model Colors Light Gray Blue #153 (bottom), Dark Blue Gray #157, Flat earth #143, and Vallejo Game Color – Goblin Green (this might be just a bit too bright & I may opt for a different green for future projects w/3-color French camo schemes.)
Primer: Rust-Oleum Gray Automotive Primer
Matte Finish: Krylon Crystal Clear Matte

Hey Kev -

What is this? You finishing up all the kits you got at Historicon or what? Are we going to have a "dry spell" of not seeing your artistry while you do a bunch more?

ALL your reviews definitely look GOOD. As Dom put it more elequently on your previous review – I'm envious of the excellence of your work. Makes me want to buy out TN Miniatures and keep trying until I get them right.

Now that you got a bunch completed, are you going to find time to CY6 a few of them?

:-)

Kimball, I was happily painting away when I needed something (don't recall what it was). I started looking through bins and drawers and came across a bunch of 1/144 minis that I started long ago (probably purchased around Historicon 2007). I immediately set aside half the things I was currently working on (put them in a drawer for later rediscovery) and started working on these 1/144 scale kits. Somebody recently mentioned smaller kits and I recalled that I had some 1/300 kits that were only lacking decals…so I dug through some stuff until I found them (and during that process rediscovered some more 1/300 and some 1/600 minis). So yes, I may slack off on the 1/144 kits for a while but there's sure to be something else that will replace them.

It may sound like heresy but after Fall In I think I'm going to paint an army of Sock Puppet minis. sockpuppetminis.com

Yeah right!!! I looked at the link… HA! They would have to sprout wings for you to enjoy doing something like that.

Still, it might be relaxing…

(and remember, it's not the sock, it's the puppet.) ;)

My apologies to Scott and Chris for the terrible pun. Kevin
