I saw this 280 page book, stated to contain 39 sets of rules, advertised in Battlegames 14. Does anyone have a copy and any experience of playing any of the games therein they are willing to share with us? In particular, what rules are there for the Horse & Musket period? Are they any good? Is the book good value for money? |

I have not seen the book personally, but I'd suggest asking John himself or browsing his page on Consimworld Social: link He's active there and I'm sure he could answer any of your questions. Hope this helps- Byron |

I have it, and I've read it. It's very, very nice. I have not played any of the games yet, and I have almost zero intrest in the genres you're looking for, so I didn't pay much attention to those rules in particular. But they are there, and I imagine they are just as quality as the rest of them. It's a "must have" for a gamers shelf IMO. |

Any comments on the rules? I'd love to hear what games you've tried. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them. John Bobek |

Ditto on the compliments to John for the wonderful book. I especially appreciate the fact that it's a great introduction for young people and newcomers, as it explains a lot of what the rest of us take for granted, and presents rules ranging from introductory to reasonably complex, thus helping them really get into the swing of things. It's the book I wish I could have written, and I suspect many others feel the same way. |
