I have read about the low-level attack rules created for use at one of the previous Salute conventions, and it sounds like great fun. However, a couple of issues are still undefined: 1. how many hits does the Tirpitz take, when the perfect bouncing bomb attack from the Mossies is carried out, and how many points are taken when less optimal areas of the ship are attacked? If I had to guess, I would presume five sections with the center 20% of the vessel being the optimal target, then sections immediately fore and aft of that suffering a moderate number of damage cards, and the bow and stern sections suffering just one to two cards of damage. Any thoughts, or confirmation of the above? 2. are there copies of the aircraft and ships forms floating around, for use/download? Any advice, or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely,
Rob |

Thanks for the link, but unless I am missing it, the info isn't on the site. I've looked pretty thoroughly. |

Also what is the range in inches for optimum drop range, and how many flak, escorts are there on the way in? --Tom |

I've been in contact with Dave Barnes the designer of the "Hunt for the Lonely Queen" rules. He kindly sent me a photo of the pilot sheet that answers most of Rob's questions, I have posted the image on my photo site: link As for Escorts, he used 2. --Tom |

I just finished running the game at HAVOC XXV a fantastic set of rules, just a blast. Here are some photos of the game in progress: tinyurl.com/cd5fc5 I ran it twice, the Tirpitz was never sunk, but knocked out of the war both time. The first game, 3 bombs where launched 2 hit, 1 fell shot, 1 Mosquito survived of 9. Game 2 5 bombs launched 2 hit, 2 hit too fast or too high and failed to do damage, 1 fell short. 2 Mosquitoes survived. --Tom |

Windward, The rules mentions 1 inch = 10mph yet the bomb release point is 350-400ft from Tirpitz. What is the distance scale you used since being off range has an effect. thanks Jim |

Hi Jim Sorry I missed your question. I used my 1/700th scale model told the players it 800 feet long (its about 14 inches long) and to figure it out. I scaled my release point on the model, so its @ 7 inches out. In my game (using 1/600th a/c and a 1/700th Tripitz) 1/2" = 10mph. If your going to do it in 1/300th it will be about 14 inches out. Its a great game BTW ran it twice at Historicon to rave reviews, fun, dead simple to play and deadly, it just doesn't get any better. Even guys who were killed hung about the table to see if anyone could sink her, and survive. Game 1 1 survivor Tirpitz Sunk Game 2 2 surivors Tirpitz Blown Up! (a first!) --Tom |

Winward (Tom), I noticed by your pics you use 10 Mosquitoes, does this impact the game (orginal only 8)? If a flak ship is along side the Tirpitz, does this impact the bomb in any way? On the jettis near the Tirpitz, are those AA gun positions? Thanks! Jim |
