Have we ever run a poll about this topic? I can't recall it. Might also be nice to run one about favorite fantasy mass combat scale. My favorite has always been Warmaster. I like the command and control aspect. I wish it were a bit more generic. I've never played it using 10mm miniatures, only the paper counters I made years ago for the WM yahoo group. With the OG15s sale, I am going to try using it for 15mm fantasy, using the improvements in the Ancients book. I have a feeling that Warmaster is not being played as much anymore? |

Warmaster for me too. Best game I've played by far for mass fantasy combat. |

I've played it a ton and continue to play it, although not as much as I once did. But that would be almost impossible. We used to play it once a week or so for about a year or more. I think I've used every race in the game at one point or another except Skaven and the new Araby army. I have armies of Kislev, Empire, orcs and gobbos, chaos, dark elves and lizardmen as well as my own list of Ogre Kingdoms. |

I played TSR Battlesystem 2nd Ed over eighteen years and still think its a great ruleset. What I liked most about it was its flexibility. It also gave a DM the ability to incorporate a party 2nd Ed AD&D player characters into a mass battle fairly seamlessly. The one major drawback was high level Wizard spells which tended to grossly unbalance a game. Our solution was to limit the amount of damage the high level spells would do. Salut y'all! Pride of Lions
its easy to pick up on and you can push a LOT of lead without it bogging down. The Yahoo group will be open shortly and will contain the rules and such. |

I still like Warhammer fantasy battle. I've played warmaster but just can't get into the smaller figs and I like having heros have some affect on the battle other than just ordering guys around. That makes sense, I guessk, for hyuman armies but chaos generals should be able to pwn some of their enemies up close and personal. |

Warmaster's the tops for its scale. When you get up to 15-28mm, I start liking Armies of Arcana more. Not the only good games in the genre, but my top picks. |
