While looking at Kampfgruppe 1/144 site I checked out the 1/144 Basic Magazine article from Saturday, September 06, 2008 and clicked on the comments. An Italian company is putting out a 50 issue bi-weekly magazine on WWII bombers with each issue having a different 1/144 bomber model included. There is a list of the first 22 models and it looks great. Along with the usual, (B-17, B-24, He-111, Lancasters) it has a Condor and a Emily, plus many more. Going to ask John at Little Shop of Magic if he can help me get a subscription for these. |

Seems this Italian publisher should be advertising here, huh? I do hope you have better luck with Italian transactions than I. mjc

B-17 wingspan: 31.62m 1:100 – 316mm 1:144 – 220mm As the standard page size for A4 is 210mm wide, I suspect the B-17 is smaller

These models are available via number of sources. obviously evil bay for a start. I am assuming with a name of "walkabout" your per chance Australian? In which I may not be much more help. As well as Deagostino in Italy Altaya use a subscription model to sell these in Spain and France. They have a website but they are not configured for sale out side of those territories with the exception maybe of Belgium!? IF you live in the USA It is a little easier, in the US they seem to be sold under the IXO brand, and are available via retailers! – therefore searching for IXO 144 or Altaya 144 on google should soon get you links back for US based retailers selling these products. It must be noted that being more customer focused the US guys will ship globally – there is then just the shipping and customs issues. regards BD99 |

If these are the IXO/Altaya models that I've seen advertised on Ebay
the quality looks good and the subjects are very tempting, but they're priced too high for me. I won't pay $30 USD or more per model, especially when I need 3 or 4 for a game. I'd like to know what a magazine subscription will run. |
