Here is an update on my long awaited full-length historical narrative of John Gordon's Brigade during the Gettysburg Campaign.

Also, the Brother Against Brother miniature wargaming scenario book, targeted for introduction at Fall-In, will be delayed somewhat due to the recent heavy Midwest rains that damaged the publisher's place. We now expect the book to be in print by the end of the year or early in 2009.

I am still awaiting word from LSU Press pon whether they will give me a contract for my Louisiana Tigers book. I am optimistic.

Sounds very interesting Scott. Looks like I might have to add another book to my wish list.
Good luck with LSU Press by the way. That title definitely has my interest indeed. I pretty much gobble up any info I can concerning the Louisiana units in the AoNV. Any idea when it might be released?? Pending LSU's response first of course.

Cheers, John

Thanks for the update.

Hello John!

If approved at the October Press Committee meeting, we are looking at 12-18 months to publication of A Spirit of Daring: Hays' Louisiana Tigers in the Gettysburg Campaign. LSU Press is methodical and quite detailed in their publication process, but the results are usually first class.

Also, over the weekend, I will submit the final, edited manuscript for my latest work, Gettysburg Glimpses: True Stories from the Battlefield. It should be in print in the spring of 2009 from Colecraft Industries.

Sounds great Scott. Many thanks for the information and update on the new titles. I look foward to both of them when released indeed.
You shouldn't have any problems with LSU I would think. Being that the title concerns Louisiana and the Tigers which is their school nickname. I think it's a shoe-in for sure. Keep up the great work sir.

Best, John

LSU Press just approved my manuscript on the Louisiana Tigers and will publish it in 12-18 months. I regard it as my best work, by far.

Scott, can I ask… do you plan photos and/or illustrations with the scenario book? I only ask because I love looking at pictures of peoples toy soldiers!:D

Yes, there will be plenty of full color photos in my upcoming scenario book. There are lots and lots of great pix in my firest three books. If you don't have copies of them, ask your retailer for them or contact Doug Kline at Battlefield Terrain Concepts.
