I love their Doom Ray link but what scale is RAFM's Space 1889 range? 28mm or something else?

your link isn't working.

I believe the scale is nearer true 25mm.

I have some. They aren't out of place with my Foundry, Perry and Old Glory figures.

Tommy2017 Sep 2008 5:54 p.m. PST

They're 27mm foot to eye.

RAFM 1889 figures are more 25 than 28mm..
However, the MARTIANS.. being (in the background material)
taller than Earthmen.. work out to 28mm

I find the Earthmen figures to be smaller than Foundry
or BTD.. I haven't seen the Johan Ripponoff figure..
but the pic looks like he'd be 25mm.

To my eye, the RAFM 1889 figures are closer to Foundry Indian Mutiny Figures than to Ral Partha Colonials, if not in height, then in heft.

I managed to put a comma at the end of the link. Here it is without picture

This might work.

Poi000,
The Space 1889 line is more like 2 scales at once. The Martians from GDW were taller than normal humans in the written descriptions. The Colonial troops are more in line with 25mm scale while the Martians are 28mm.

The Doom ray in particular is more in the 28mm range as it was done later.

Received some this morning, so I've been comparing them with other figures. The humans are about 27-28mm depending on whether they're wearing hats, hair or or helmets :) That makes them about half a head shorter than ARtizan minis, and noticeably shorter than Copplestone. They look like 12 year old children alongside GW space marines ;)

The line they're closest in height to is Valiants "oversized" 1/72 figures, which also stand around 26-27mm from soles of boots to helmets.

As everyone says, the Martians are significantly taller, 32-33mm, and look like normal-sized humans next to Copplestone or GW figures.
