Here's the 3rd game in my BEF vs. Germany France 1940 campaign
This was a 4 player, PBEM game. As usual, all the participants were great sports and fun roleplayers! Hope you like it: link REgards, CH |

Neat game--commercial rules or something homegrown? Rob |

Rob, Rules are a homegrown set adapted from a few different commencial sets. I try to keep it fairly simple but with this set up, it does give me some time to look up some detail things like armour penetration tables, etc. Obviously, the limited player perspective gives a unique flavor to the game
and also -- this set up allows for true simultaneous movement on the battlefield
A couple of dilemmas which are hard to overcome well with most traditional tabletop rulesets. |

Thanks for posting these for public viewing! VonSydow and Haering are two that I have faced off against/with on many occasions on the tabletop. With a 2 year old and another due in October I don't get much game time, these bat reps and pics really help scratch the itch for me! |

Thanks for the comments. The players seemed to have a lot of fun. If you are ever interested in participating or running a PBEM game like this, just let me know. I have designed the site to be able to accommodate outside GMs and players for PBEM games (any scale/genre welcome). Its still a bit of a beta test at the moment but I have a few players currently running games on the system and always glad to have more. contact info & more about the site here: chtechnical.com/skirmish Regards, CH |

I love the first-person view of the game. I'm going to start my squad-level Nuts! game on the PBEM forum this week. If I can get some more info on your user interface I'd like to use your site in the future. A few screen shots for new players and GMs would be nice. And shouldn't those pictures be in b/w? |

Sounds good Ed. I'm working on a new user tutorial/step by step. The interface is still pretty raw & generic but its very easy to use once you try it out a bit. And ofcourse, I would love to have you run some games there and get your suggestions and feedback for improving it. Email me anytime if you want me to set you up with an account on the system. Neat looking game – and a great period to play too. Fall Rot ''A couple of dilemmas which are hard to overcome well with most traditional tabletop rulesets'' Hitler's stop order, by any chance? |

Yes, having a lot of fun with this period! I've sort of turned this into a campaign, hoping the players would be interested enough and stick with it
but I haven't made it to the stop order just yet
Been trying to keep it along historical lines and mix in skirmish scenarios based on actual events
so far I've been able to string them together ok without stretching reality too much
and all the commanding officers have survived so far ! (Some just barely
) So far,the 3 games Ive done in this campaign -- May 12 -- BEF Cavalry screen meets recon elements from German Army group B in Belgium. This was the original test scenario with 2 players.. May 14 -- Germans attack BEF defenses at the Dyle line near Louvain
4 player this time.. May 15 -- BEF counter attack to reduce small german bridgehead incursion over the Dyle line.. Next scenario is in the works now May 18th (dont want to give more away in case prospective players are reading)
Thanks for looking! -CH |
