Here's a project I just completed. HaT's elephant wasn't quite satisfactory, so I replaced him with a Schleich Indian elephant. Did retain the HaT mahout and pikeman. Tht other two guys are conversions. Scratchbuilt the tower, etc. picture picture picture |

Absolutely stunning work. It must be quite a presence on the tabletop. |

Beauty. I've often looked at the Schleich Mammoth/Mastodons as potential Mamukil for LotR (it demands something bigger than a standard elephant). |

Is that archer from the David and Goliath playset? Great idea! |

I like it! Well done, CorporalTrim. |

Thanks, guys ! Yes, good eye CraigSpiel ! That is indeed a Goliath archer. The biblical look isn't quite right even for a Successor eastern kingdom, but passable with a head swap, not to mention the long tunic and clumsy big feet are hidden by the tower. :-) Here's a shot of the two crew conversions: picture Regards, Steve |

Agree with you about the HaT elephant – necessary compromises in a 1/72 model are just unsatisfactory when simply scaled up to 1/32. I wouldn't be too happy with the mahout's precarious kneeling pose either – perhaps a converted Numidian horseman would look a bit more comfortable? Still a great modelling job! |

Killer stuff! I have a couple of those I haven't assembled yet, I will have to try this as well. |
