I saw a new line of CMGs at the mall the other day and was interested. Although I dont play these kind of games cuz I hate blind box purchases, my interest was piqued when a web search led to results touting the game and accompanying toys as a hot thing in Italy. Has anyone tried this game? How is the game play? |

What mall were YOU at?!? I am in the States, and have only seen them being sold out of England, at the nearest. I looked into it a while back, as I love little brightly-colored platic critters, and blind-packed ones have a +2 to enthrall me. I read about the rules somewhere, as near as I can remember, it is very simplistic (as in, makes Star Wars Miniatures seem like Star Fleet Battles). You might poke around on BoardGameGeek for more info. |

I'm in the Philippines and most of the department stores have huge product displays for Gormiti, right beside Batman action figures and Wall-E merchandise. Will check out BoardGameGeek. |

In the UK they are selling sets on clear blister cards so you know what you are getting. |

Chips and Gadgets
I would so but this if available here, but this type of marketing never seems to come to the USA. Probably because we already buy too many chips

any info on the gameplay? |
| Jayster | 08 Sep 2008 8:29 a.m. PST |
Info on gameplay is as simplistic as you can get. Each figure has a number printed on it's foot, it is also accompained by it's own character card, which has another number on it. You decide which figures are going in to battle against your opponents. Add together the number on the foot and the number on the card – whoever has the highest total wins that round. My son has them. |

Just a quick heads up for anybody who is collecting, or who has children who are collecting these. I've just found a bundle in TK Maxx (UK) for £3.99. |

No insult intended
but these look awful. Maybe 2-3 out of the whole group displayed had any character or playability potential IMO. Am I missing something here? |

No offence taken. I have to admit. I would not be looking to "Borrow" any of my sons figures for any sort of game! :) He likes them, so I don't mind getting them for him. But you are right, they don't have a look that would draw in gamers. |

Looks like the U.S. will be getting Gormiti in the spring of 2009 from Playmates. link |

Thanks for the link, GM. I saw some at Target last week. Well, *I* think they are pretty neat. Bit too pricey at two for $6, though. |

In Italy we also get 28mm ones in chocolate eggs and chip packets (€1 each), and the 40mm ones sold in sealed blisters at newsagents for €2.00 EUR to €2,50 each (depending on series). They can be based and repainted for good effect. I use a few as mutants in Mutants and Death Ray Guns scenarios, and I am using them to playtest my kaiju game Mighty Monsters. For ages, I was envious that these figs were only avalible in Italy(and I guess to a lesser extent, other parts of Europe), and am glad we have the first series here now (though I am not sure if it is exactly the same "series one" as appeared there). And yes, I guess the plant-guys would be great for that (they're my favorite of the Gormiti lot). Thanks for the tip, Andrea! |

I saw these in Toys'R'Us the other day. Mostly goofy, but there are a few that would look pretty cool after a repaint. They were in a clear blister, by the way. |
