Anyone know of a source with all of the current LOTR models produced by GW, including freebees? Product codes would be great as well. Many thanks.

I prefer a non-GW source. The GW website is dreadful and doesn't have everything. Many thanks again.

Nycjadie,

have a look at The Last Alliance.

Hope this helps.

Well, that's two votes for the same site.. ;-)

nycjadie05 Sep 2008 7:14 a.m. PST

That's a very helpful site, but I don't seem to find the extra models that don't fit into one of the movies or supplements. Any help on that would be great.

streetline05 Sep 2008 8:15 a.m. PST

I think just about everything fits in supplement or another – what do you have?

streetline05 Sep 2008 8:16 a.m. PST

ONE supplement or another. Todays missing word is ONE.

nycjadie05 Sep 2008 9:12 a.m. PST

Thanks. I know there were several models outside of the supplements. There was the freebee invisible Frodo. There was Gandalf and his cart. Hobbits in orc armour, etc.

I'd like to find the more unusual models and beyond the ultra-slow GW website (which doesn't even operate at work), I can't find any good lists.

Alxbates05 Sep 2008 9:31 a.m. PST

Hmmm… well, LoTR Collector used to be the site for it, but they seem to be down at the moment:

lotr-collector.com

Too bad, they had everything listed there…

streetline05 Sep 2008 12:15 p.m. PST

OK, with you. But I think you've covered most of them there! I'll have a ponder about a list.

illumin4tus05 Sep 2008 3:21 p.m. PST

lotr-collector has been off line for a while now (2 years), I dont think its coming back. I have done a list of relative rarity for ebay here:

auction

It needs updating since the great purge of O8 eg sam and frodo in orc armour was once a regular release…

If you have any specific questions I'll be happy to try and answer them either here or sjones at 9online dot fr

That's very helpful S. I know there is also a dead mumak. There's one in my local GW shop. It's a nice model, but probably unavailable to me.

thosmoss05 Sep 2008 9:31 p.m. PST

"there is also a dead mumak"

Stories I heard was this was released to GW stores only. Some trickled from there out into the hands of everyman, good buddies of GW managers and such.

illumin4tus06 Sep 2008 3:43 a.m. PST

The dead mamuk was converted from the normal model by a GW employee then cast up in a few examples which were distributed to other shops – not a new model in my book – more like sanctioned piracy ;) There is also a Balrog cast in clear resin which was a studio project but it was never on any kind of release. There used to be articles on the GW site, I'll see if I can find them:

The dead mumakil article has been purged – the balrog is here:

While these are definately collectors items, I would class them as one-offs rather than part of the official range.

Yeah, I was trying to get one of those Dead Mumak's for a long time.. I gave up, they're not really available to the general public (unless, as Illumin4tus says, you're a good buddy of a GW store manager).

I have been looking for a good list for a while now as well. MOME 2.0, a spreadsheet, was created by Osbad I believe and VERY thorough up until like 2006. After that, there is not a guide (including lotr collector) that comes close. I am believe I have most everything that was ever released (I've been collecting/painting/gaming since day one (even before with Mithril) but haven't done a good job lately keeping track. I have all 3 collectors books that GW produced for LOTR as well but they don't have everything either. Maybe I will try to compile a thorough list here soon.
