My gaming group got a chuckle out of the "Veritas Imperator" newsletters produced by my Epic Imperial Guard army during our recent Epic campign, so I thought I might as well share them with the TMP world at large. Now, my gaming friends are an old and cynical lot, so they claimed to have detected some sort of Imperial bias and possibly a trace of bombastic propaganda that would make a 1950s Pravda editor blush. Nothing could be further from the truth of course, but I thought I would just mention that contrary opinion, in case those of a delicate and humourless nature read it. :) PDF link PDF link PDF link And if anyone is interested in the campaign rules we used, here they are: PDF link |

You're an inspiration to all us fustrated Epic:A players Tony. I have an uphill fight just getting the locals to play a game, much less a campaign. Envy. Don't worry about the (alleged) biased journalism. Our local papers aren't any better! Thanks very much for the campaign rules. We'd appreciate any other bits of information you could supply on the running of it, players & armies involved, and difficulties. Maybe SOMEDAY (he sighs wistfully), I'll be able to duplicate your campaign. |

Where did you get the "Lustria Campaign" map? It would seem necessary if I am to duplicate your campaign. Thanks. |

Ah the map
I started making a really nice looking map, like the example shown in the rules, but the campaign started before I completed it digitally. So we ended up using my hand drawn one (although my five year old coloured it with crayons at least!) :) It's not the Lustria map; I made it myself. The Lustria supplement has a few pages of tables for randomly designing a map, and I used that as a base, but ended up changing a few things here and there. Basically, scatter xD6+4 (where x=number of players) nodes across a sheet of paper, then join them together in some fashion. Some should be connected to many nodes, other should be somewhat isolated. (Although I made sure there was minimum of two routes from each node). Make each node a type of territory and then assign the march difficulty for each route. Most routes should be relatively easy, about half being 2+ difficulty. That's about it in a nutshell. I don't know if the Lustria book is still available, but if you ever see it cheap, you may wish to consider picking it up. I've haven't played Warhammer ever since 2nd Edition many years ago, but I found Lustria worth the purchase. Although I must admit I am a sucker for campaign rules! Drop me a line at tony -at- stapells -period- com or PM if you need anything else! |

Thanks for the map info Tony. One day. At least I have your map ideas & campaign rules. Now all I need is players! Thanks again. |

Just absolutely fantastic, mind if I link to it far and wide? :) |

No problem Chris. I was meaning to actually do a page on my own site for them, but just settled for uploading the files to my server for now. |

Absolutely marvelous, must have seen it from TRC linking it elsewhere, somehow missing to put the accolade at the right place. |
