I may be moving to the Denver area and I'm wondering about how big the wargaming community is in that area? Thanks for any help.

Cheers!

it used to be pretty big when my friend lived there. That was several years ago however.

Denver has a few gaming clubs that hold conventions every year. Tacticon is at the end of the month if your in Denver by then it'll be the place to go find the gamers.

The Colorado Military Historians is one of the oldest clubs in the country – you can google it and find them pretty easily. The Denver metro area has a pretty active and vibrant game community, supported by conventions (Genghis Con and Tacticon), as well as a great game hobby shop (Attactix). The area also has quite a few game/hobby companies – Musket Miniatures, GFI (Minifigs), Stone Mountain Miniatures, Piquet. All in all, I'd say we're as active as any area in the US.

I'd also add in the Colorado Historical Gamers. They meet at Attacktix gaming store regularly and play a wide variety of games.

We are a friendly bunch of gamers in the Denver. I would guess that there are at least a couple of hundred gamers in the metro area. More if you want to include the euro gamers, board gamers, 40K and Warhammer gamers. Colorado Military Historians has about 45 paid members and another 15 or so who never quite join our club. Tacticon is a great way to meet gamers from all over the front range, even as far away as Wyoming and the remote wilds of Colorado Springs.

I believe you can usually find the CMH guys at Valhalla's Game Center in Wheat Ridge on Friday nights.

"the remote wilds of Colorado Springs" Sheeeeesh.
The second largest city in Colorado does OK.

If you are down here in the civilized part of the state on Thursday nights drop by Castle Games and Gifts the Colorado Springs Historical Gamers meets at 6:30 to do various eras.
