Okay as suggested – who are teh 5 best females to appear in a Western?

Rather then Living or Dead let's set a new filter – they have to have appeared in 3 or more western themed movies, T.V. shows or radio serials.

OKay, whose first to post?

Gracias,

Glenn

That's tough criteria. Best what, looking, acting, gun fighting? 3 or more? Eoisodes or different series? I'm drawing a blank. Amanda Blake is all that comes to mind,20+ years of Gunsmoke has to count for something.

My hats in the ring for Jane Russell (The Outlaw, Tall Men, Montana Belle).

Maureen O'Hara has to number one on the list.
In fact I'm struggling to think of anyone else who fits the criteria of 3 or more

Grimmnar02 Aug 2008 11:52 a.m. PST

I am on Gorb's bandwagon for this one. :-)

I think Angie Dickinson was in a number of westerns (including Rio Bravo I think) and guest starred in a number of TV western series too.

Beat me to it!

I'll cast my vote for O'Hara.

Claudia Cardinalle was also in the Professionals, a great often over-looked western.

Agesilaus02 Aug 2008 1:22 p.m. PST

O'Hara

That's two out three so far! O'Hara and Cardinalle.

I'm going to throw in a vote for Salma Hayek. Two good reasons.

pmwalt02 Aug 2008 10:11 p.m. PST

Maureen O'Hara, hands down … though Salma is a cloes second

vojvoda03 Aug 2008 5:41 a.m. PST

Too easy Brigitte Bardot, and Jenne Moreau in Via Maria. Ah to be 12, and alone on a Saturday night in July again. Hey everyone has to have a first!

Kicking Miss Langtry to the curb? :D

beartooth05 Aug 2008 12:00 a.m. PST

Being an idiot, I went and forgot Tantoo Cardinal yesterday.

Judge Bean05 Aug 2008 7:06 a.m. PST

I don't remember Lilly Langtry ever being in a western movie. If she had been though she'd definitely be on the list. Better strike Marilyn I didn't notice the three movie requirement. Replace her with Linda Crystal, or Amanda Blake.

Judge Bean06 Aug 2008 8:15 a.m. PST

Well then, leave Marilyn in the list then and expand it for the others. That means my list is the top 7. Maureen O'Hara still deserves the top three slots.

Ditto on Maureen.

And I've always liked Reba McEntire.
