Hello there I would like to know if there's any rules for use with 15mm Ancient Galleys?

Between my friend and myself we have 8 Galleys 2 large and 6 smaller.

We got the Galleys from another friend who wanted to get rid of them,so my friend and i bought them.

Each Galley comes with a small group of 15mm Ancient figures and some small artillery piece's.

So any help would be grateful.

Thanks
Captain Gideon

A guy in Atlanta has run a number of 15mm galley battles at conventions in the area. Cloudcaptain can get in touch with him as they are in the same area to see what rules he uses.

Hey Captain,
I'm that wierd guy from Atlanta that runs the old
15mm soft resin ships put out by old MiniFigs.
My rules are all on one page and in my head,
need to get them down on my new computor.
But I started with the My Galley Sally rules,
which I would also recommend to you as a
starting point. I'm sure they are on the web somewhere,
let me know if not and I'll see what I can do.
Enjoy the ships, I have about 30 of them and love them!

I thought you might check the thread Mike. I had forgotten the handle that you use on TMP.

I just saw a battle of Actium using Roman Seas at Hcon. Must have had over 30 or 40 Galleys on the table.

Only slightly off topic, but along the same lines, does anyone know of a good set of rules that would cover the pseudo-galleys used in the Far East around the time of the Japanese invasions of Korea and period of piracy that preceeded it? Preferrably at the 1/1200 or 1/2400 scale.

Thanks,

Marv

Marv,
I am working on a set of rules for Junks and Turtle boats. I based them on the playtest set I did some years ago (Raven vs Ram) but I am in the middle of a move right now and will be several weeks before I am able to unpack. I will post a thread on TMP when I find them again.

James,

That's okay as it'll take me some time to build and then paint a fleet or two (or three!). Would love to see the rules whenever, as I have no experience whatsoever in naval miniature wargaming but see it as a very useful campaign device, especially for an Imjin War campaign.
