instead of having interests divided only by time periods, which are artificial boundaries as time is continuous, wouldn't you like the possibility to see news organized also by scale? There is considerable overlapping between close periods in the same scale, especially as far as equipment is concerned, but little or no overlap at all between different scales

I really can't begin to imagine how this might work. |

Just because something is artificial, doesn't mean that it's meaningless. |

wouldn't you like the possibility to see news organized also by scale? Nope. Periods interest me. A new range of Jenkins Ear in any scale is more useful & interesting than a new 28mm range for any period. |

Nope. I do think this scale board thing is getting a little tiresome. |

I am not intrinsically interested in sizes. I don't want to wade through 1000 messages about 15mm ancients when I don't play them. But I find things of interest in ACW 25mm even though I play in 6mm and 25mm. |

I'm not crazy about that idea, although I'm indifferent to most board additions. |

I use different scales for different time periods. I look for information by time period first, then for scale within that. So no, that would not be helpful for me at all. |

I tend to find that most of my questions and research are not scale specific, but period specific, so I would prefer separation by period. |

I would like to see that the scales are includes in news articles. Particularly when it is a new company. |

Does this mean I'd have to type in 6pt font on the 6mm site, and in ever increasing font sizes till I get to 54mm? |

We don't use scales – 28mm can mean anything from 1:60 to 1:48 and, even then, the proportions of the body vary. |

So many say nay yet it is a good idea. A simple Scale – Period search could save so much time, at least where discussion of figures and structures is concerned. For general topics perhaps not so useful. The challenge in implementing the idea, I suspect, is advertisers that have multiple scales to market. That should not be too big a burden. They should be setting their pages to point to scale already. And it would keep searches for 15 mm figures from bothering people who only play 25 mm – or vice versa. |
