I would like to be able to SEE them, period. How about early war Chinese?

Brit frogmen and X-craft (midget submarines)

green beanie15 Jul 2008 4:27 p.m. PST

Roll Again, I wish I could remember which British company it was, but somebody made in 6mm (1/300th scale) in resin I believe, a surfaced X craft sub for use with landing craft as a guide boat. it was molded with a standing fig and rasied mast (used as either a radio mast or becon light) if I can remember which company I will let you know, but someone here might know who molded it.

Heroics and Ross have a US flamethrower in the heavy weapons pack.

Thanks, green!

What I'd really like is a full sized model and dynamic swimming poses for the frogmen for underwater action, but I guess I"ll take what I can get!

ACWBill, Adler for the last two years have been saying that for their WW 2 line of figs the US water cooled .30cal MG was coming out along with the British Airborn mini motor bike. hopefully he will cas them soon!

ACWBill29 Aug 2008 7:35 a.m. PST

I had an e-mail conversation with him not long ago. I don't think we will be seeing it anytime soon. It would be great, but I haven't seen a new WWII model from Adler in several years. The last new item was his British Para landing zone packs. That message has been on his site, along with a note about BMWs with sidecars and Indians/Sihk Infantry for well in excess of two years. Perhaps it should be removed now? I would love for him to delve back into WWII.

Civilians.

jimborex16 Sep 2008 11:26 a.m. PST

Civilians! I second the motion. Civilians on foot, civilian wagons, cars and trucks; men, women, children, and refugees. I think there would be a pretty good demand for them because in 6mm, they will suit to almost any period after about 1850. Civilans in working poses (shovels, barrows, etc) would suit for fatigue parties too.

Irregular! Are you listening?

jimborex16 Sep 2008 11:28 a.m. PST

I'd also like to see a kneeling medic working on a wounded comrade. Stretcher bearers. Men carrying ammo boxes.

6milPhil14 Mar 2009 7:23 p.m. PST

Jim glad to see that's two of us. I'd like civilians for both innocent bystanders but also for resistance. I'd really like to do a game with just occupiers troops fighting resistance but, as per real history, with lots of non-combatant civvies around too, just to confuse things. ;-)

I'll second your wounded, as they make good surpression markers.

Adler Miniatures do some troops running around with ammo, their piat crews spring to mind, think the sames true of their HMG crews. They do a lot of deployed plus carried makes for a good variety in bases.

It strikes me that there is a MASSIVE gap in the WW2 6mm market that a canny company could exploit – if a company released figures such as infantry in greatcoats that were compatible with H&R then they would be onto a winner IMHO.

Hello guys,
Just to give you an up date.
Just released are the final bits for the British 8th army, BOYS, 2" motars, 3" motars, 6 pdr and 25 pdr gun crews and mine clearing/engineer teams. Should all be listed on the website soon
We are working on several versions of German inf in the 42 jacket, one in forage cap with MP 40 and 98k ( for use as Mountain and ski troops) and one which will have a late war mix of Stg44,MP40,98k and Russian smg's. If there is demand we will do a version equipped with ski's as well. Not sure what apart from LMG's we will do as support packs yet.
The 30 water cooled is awaiting on its production mould companion piece the Marine bunker busting team. Made one last year but it just wasnt up to scratch and havent had time to redo yet.
The jeeps are finally getting underway with provisional release date of July at the Bovington show. BMW sidecar is floating around somewhere in the mix.
So many figures to design so little time!
L
ps we do have US infantry in greatcoat available, only basic inf no support packs as yet, not been released as they where waiting for the German winter range. Oh yes and Soviet naval infantry in the works as well.

Das Schaeferhunde07 Apr 2010 6:38 p.m. PST

Dogs, like some decent looking German Shepherds. Also, who makes fuel barrels and crates at this scale?

hindsTMP Supporting Member of TMP16 Apr 2010 1:31 p.m. PST

I would vote for squirrels and goldfish, before dogs.

MH

Das Schaeferhunde17 Apr 2010 7:23 a.m. PST

Thanks for your input. Do you game with squirrels and goldfish?

Grimbold19 Apr 2010 2:38 a.m. PST

"Squirrels – B*****ds!

I hate them with their little twitchy noses!"

Chris PzTp29 Apr 2010 1:12 p.m. PST

How about some cows?

I'd like to see some inexpesive trench trips, like an inch wide (or less) and 6-12 inches long. So I can easily throw a trench or two (or three) accross a 6 or 8 foot table. Generic, so they can be used for WWI, WWII, etc.

Das Schaeferhunde29 Apr 2010 8:32 p.m. PST

IRREGULAR MINIATURES RU47 Base of four cows 50p

I don't know what you mean by "trench trips".
Angel Barracks has some nice Earth Works.
TimeCast has a range of Field Defenses and Fortifications.

Chris PzTp01 May 2010 12:51 p.m. PST

sorry, it was supposed to be "trench strips"

Timecast's trenches are very nice, but they are around 30mm or 1.5 inch square. It would be rather expensive and fiddly to line them up accross a 6 or 8 foot table.

jefferysl06 May 2010 7:37 a.m. PST

Any of 21st Panzer's Normandy "funnies". I know Armstrong makes them, but they're just too "blobby" for me. Same same for various Italian truck mounted guns.

jefferysl10 May 2010 6:45 a.m. PST

I'd like to see a package of general accessories such as jerricans, ammo or ration boxes, stuff like that. I know I can already use foil and epoxy putty for tarps, sand bags and such, but these other items would be nice for customizing your minis.

No longer can support TMP10 May 2010 11:32 a.m. PST

2nd the call for general accessories. I'd like to see spare bogeys and a few tread pieces too.

Chris PzTp19 May 2010 9:56 a.m. PST

If someone made the American 90mm AA-gun I'd buy some.

They were pressed into service as AT-guns during the Bulge.

Battlescale08 Jul 2010 2:54 p.m. PST

I'd like to see a 6mm figure of a wargamer painting a suitably scaled 6mm figure!

DanLewisTN16 Jul 2010 3:52 p.m. PST

I think it's cool to have the infantry figures entrenched. Adler has some but just German. I guess I could cut some troops in half though.

How are the quality of Adler? Match up with H&R in Size? I like H&R pretty well, haven't tried Adler.

Ancientsguy03 Aug 2010 7:43 a.m. PST

Hey Leon. How about some Generals, radio men/spotters, tankmen, casualties, Volksstrum and Japanese?

Ancientsguy04 Aug 2010 8:01 a.m. PST

Oh, and some snipers too!

DanLewisTN09 Aug 2010 5:42 p.m. PST

Arabs

WWIIGuy13 Aug 2010 6:04 a.m. PST

Would love to see Adler do some snipers. Japanese and marines would be nice too as well as some drivers and passengers for halftracks!

WWIIGuy24 Aug 2010 5:28 a.m. PST

Leon, how about an update. Last one was in April?

WWIIGuy30 Aug 2010 3:47 p.m. PST

Hello, Leon?

Reposted from the more recently started (but not more recently posted-to) 6mm Wish List thread:

I would like to see more in the way of WW2 motorcycle troops.

GHQ makes some lovely German motorcycles/side-car figures. Scotia offers some Soviet side-car figures, and generic single motorcyclist and un-manned motorcycle, and a Japanese motor-tricycle, but quite honestly these are not particularly attractive, being very old masters and rather small in size (not just a 1/300 Scotia vs. 1/285 GHQ issue, but they are small in size vs. other Scotia infantry figures). Still, Soviet and some Japanese stuff exists.

But there were several other nations who used motorcycle troops in WW2, and some of them were quite distinctive (meaning more than re-painting or even re-shaping helmets on existing figures).

I would be a buyer if someone did some reasonable Italian motorcycle troops.

I'd like to see two men tandem on the majority of motorcycles. No one makes this, and it was the common mounting for Italians, with side-cars being quite rare.

I'd also like to see the Italian tricycle, which was used to haul support weapons, supplies, and other troops.

And I'd like to see dismounted motorcycles for each.

There are a total of 3 helmets that might be offered. The conventional Italian helmet, the helmet with plume of the Bersaglieri, and the tropical helmet with plume that the Bersaglieri often wore in North Africa.

Multiple vendors offer Bersaglieri infantry figures. So I would guess that they are popular enough. But no one offers them mounted on their motorcycles. I would think a vendor could obtain expanded kit selling of the dismounted Bersaglieri with motorcycle-mounted Bersaglieri and dismounted motorcycles.

I know I would be a buyer.

And I might be for Romanians too. But first, some Italians, please!

At the risk of appearing to focus too much on Italy from the outset, I will also wish for: Italian Alpini. …

No vendor (that I know of) offers Alpini troops. They were present in several key battles on the Eastern front. My conversations with those who follow the history of Italy in WW2 almost invariably come around to the Alpini. And yet, I can not game them.

I would be a buyer for at least a company's worth of Alpini.
