Has anyone used Corps Command rule set? What do you think?

I haven't but some how I am drawn to that game title. Where can one find such a wonderfully named game?

I posted the same question in the Product Reviews area on the 30th, I think I picked the wrong place to put it.

You can find it at On Military Matters and other places, there is a Yahoo! Group as well, I've been trying to figure out how the mechanics of it compare to other games but as of yet haven't gotten all my answers. Hoping to know if I'd like it before I drop the ~$30.

All the descriptions I find are: greatest game ever, our group loves it, plays really fast yet perfectly realistic, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Basically the same thing every group says about the game they like. Hence my desire for details.

Cheers,

The Bandit

Havnt heard anyone who has played it on this forum. From what I read the "melee" system is very long winded. The shooting seems better but the overkill system doesnt take account of range.

also there are a lot of charts. Id like to play but wont buy from what Ive heard so far.

I'm with Bandit – I'd love to know more but not just the "motherhood" stuff.

CORPS COMMAND IV is available and there is a FACEBOOK group for it as well as a Forum and free scenarios at CORPSCOMMAND@hopliteresearchgames.groups.io

The rules are available from onmilitarymatters.com, caliverbooks.com, nobleknightgames.com, or from the publisher's online store at panzerkorps.com

There is a new CORPS COMMAND CAMPAIGNS Fourth Edition as well just released.

If you are interested in Corps Command check out the IO:Group site. The scale is not my main interest area, but i do have a copy and i do like rules from Manny and he certainly does a great job supporting his rules.

What surprised me was how old the 1st edition is, it goes way back but has a very modern feel so i assume a lot of rewriting has occured.
