I'm trying to find a book written by a destroyer commander who described the fight to stay afloat during the typhoon of 18 december 1944 off the Phillipines. I don't remember the ship's name, but they adopted a crest featuring an angel pulling the ship upright. It was a Farragut class destroyer.

Possibly this one, written by the commander of the USS Dewey?

Yup, that's got to be it.

Thanks.
