I am aware of only two computer games that are compatible with miniatures battles. Campaigns on the Danube, and Empires in Arms (both from Matrix Games) have options to fight battles on the table top with miniatures and then input the results back into the campaign. link link Are there any other such games out there? |

I dont know of any others, but would pay up to 200 bucks for a good ACW version

I am trying to convince the developers at AGEOD link to incorporate this feature in their games. Everything they do is first rate, including a ACW game, along with a fantastic AWI game. So far, they seem skeptical that there is any interest in miniature compatibility. I have to believe that if they incorporated miniature resolution options into their historical campaign games, they would sell a bunch more games to miniature gamers (who otherwise may not even be interested in computer strategy games.) |

I tried to play Campaigns on the Danube and gave up after several attempts understand exactly what it was doing
I'd be interested if anyone has had any success using the software, with or without the tabletop options

There is Campaigner, but it's not an 'option' to fight the battles with miniatures, and there is no AI. racingspidergames.com You can download a demo of it and see if it would work for you. |

I should have mentioned that the Carnage and Glory computer moderated software had a compaign module. It was more like a board game than a computer game, although the data was inputed into the computer and then transferred into the tactical system to play on the tabletop, then all the results were uploaded back to the strategic module

I played a couple of games of Campaigns on the Danube. It worked well for me. (although I actually had to read the manual, which I don't always do with every game I play.) |

Yeah, maybe that's it
I've got to read the silly instructions. db |

I have used the Computer Strategies historical miniatures games which have a campaign module. It allows you to create miniatures armies which then represent the forces you move over the map. You then export the army files for batles once you have a contact. You then import the army file with the casualties etc after the battle and then continue the campaign. It does not have AI for the campaign, but you can set up your own map with terrain, food supply etc. It also calculates losses from fatigue, starvation, disease etc The whole thing is designed for miniatures. It has battle module and grand tactical as well. Their link is at: link Have a look. |

I looked at Computer Strategies, pretty nice but a PBEM would be nice to allow a campaign to be run. I can't believe someone has not created a vassal module to do this yet. |

I am defenately thinking of picking up 'Iron Tigers' from COmputer Strategies. The campaign and solo modes look great. |

I would love to have various period "solo" games to be used on the table top for miniatures. You provide input to the various questions and the computer decides how to respond against you. I have been asking for this from every computer company or writer that puts out wargames for years and it's always a NOGO. They just don't believe that it will sell. One of these days we will get it. |

@ Spartanmst, Would love to hear what you think of Iron Tigers when you get it. |
